Since the tour is coming closer and closer I was thinking about what they could play on this tour. I always think Strato plays too little of the new stuff. There's three post-Tolkki albums now. Aside from 'the mandatory classics' like Black Diamond and Speed of Light I think they should play lots of new stuff. Time to show old and new audiences what they can do without TT.

From the new album I really hope to hear Abandon, Unbreakable, Stand My Ground, Halcyon Days, Fantasy, Out of The Fog, One Must Fall (TK's voice on 2:21 to 2:25 is the best thing ever!) and If The Story Is Over.

Fantasy for example is a great alternative for Eagleheart or HHaL. Great classic Stratovarius tune. And so all these new songs can replace old ones. Also Polaris and Elysium material like Blind, Emancipation Suites, Fairness Justified, etc. and rare ones like Why Are We Here and such would be cool.

I DO HOPE they play just 2 or 3 songs songs from the past and the rest all songs from the last three albums, mainly the new one. It is a WASTE to play just classic songs, please play new songs, because it is an aberration to not play these fantastic and wonderful new songs.

My choice would be:

Halcyon days (this is an opener)
Fantasy
Stand my ground
Unbreakable
Dragons
Elysium
Abandon
One must fall
Eternity
Emancipation I and II
Speed of light
If the Story is Over
Castles in the air
Nemesis (this is perfect to end)
...Faster than light, higher than the sky, stronger than steel...We´re the legions of the Twilight...

Okay, my idea of a set list would be:

Intro
Halcyon Days
Falling Star
Event Horizon
Abandon
Emancipation Suites
Speed of Light
One Must Fall
Solo's + Eternity
Out of The Fog
Stand My Ground
If The Story is Over
Black Diamond
Unbreakable
-- Encore --
Fantasy
Nemesis
Outro

That would be lovely! All of these songs could be classics if played enough!

I agree, great list.
They should skip the Hunting High and Low.

I asked Timo about setlists in my interview, since he tends to pick them. Unfortunately it's still stuck in "not-edited-yet" (not my call), but he talks a bit about how on Polaris and Elysium, there were an easy 2-3 songs to play live from each album, but Nemesis is difficult, because he wants to play like 7 songs, but then there wouldn't be room for classics

I still think they should allow new songs to become classics. Ditch HHaL and Eagleheart. Two oldies is enough. Like the set list I posted above.

I really don't understand...seems they "fear" the new songs. Cmon...of course all the bands play classics, but YOU SHOULD PLAY THE NEW SONGS. If not, when are they gonna become classics too¿?¿? Can you IMAGINE Elysium live or Emancipation or EVERY SONG IN THIS MASTERPIECE CALLED NEMESIS?? OMFG imagine Stand my ground, Halcyon days, Fantasy, Dragons, Nemesis, etc, etc, etc!!
It's true that there are a lot of backing vocals in some of the choruses but I'm sure they will play it without losing power.

I understand they have to play classics, but cmon...lets update a little bit the setlists.

The backing vocals issue can be solved by using backing tracks like on the Infinite and Elements Tours. There's nothing wrong with that I think.

Hell yeah, I could very well imagine shows with just, let's say two classics, and the rest songs off the new albums, and would be cool if they'd change both these classics and the new ones from show to show :) But I'm pretty sure they'll actually start playing more new songs with this tour when Timo himself says Nemess is full of songs worth playing live :)
If I remember right, it seemed like they used a few more backing tracks than before at the show in Andernach last year, guess that won't be a problem for them.

If only 2 old songs are being played, Eternity is very, very, very, unlikely to be one of them. Keep in mind that in order to fund tours, they have to do smaller setlists because they're splitting the bill with Amaranthe and whoever else.

True, thats why I combined it with a solo part. For me, to shorten the setlist, solo parts can be deleted from the set anyway. We all know they're talented musicians, I'd rather hear more songs instead of solo parts.

Count me in as someone else who wants to see more new stuff and less repeats of classics from 10, 15 years ago.

It'd be cool if they would alternate songs each gig or something. That way they can continue playing classics and new material without having to settle for just 1 or 2 smash hit classics for the entire tour.

For example, for old material it'd be cool to see them keep these:

Eagleheart
Hunting High and Low
Black Diamond
Forever
Phoenix
Speed of Light

And for newer material, I'd personally like to see:

Forever Is Today
Darkest Hours
Event Horizon
Elysium*
Unbreakable
Halcyon Days
If The Story Is Over (or Move the Mountain)
Fantasy
Castles In The Air
Dragons

*I realize this will probably never get played live but for fuck's sake it just might be the greatest power metal song written to date and I wish they'd play it ONCE

Or they should play in this to their next tour

Episode/Speed of Light
Visions
Destiny
Infinity
Elements
Emancipation Suite
Elysium
Nemesis

I wonder how many hours they gonna finish it especially the Elysium

Fuck Black Diamond, we've heard that over 9000 times, give me Halcyon Days :D

Being a bit more serious though, Nemesis has even MORE good songs to play live.

If it was up to me to do the setlist, I'd probably...

Intro
Halcyon Days
Abandon
Speed of Light
Why Are We Here
Stand My Ground
Unbreakable
Deep Unknown
Fantasy
Stratofortress/Stratosphere (Either)
Elysium

Insert Ballad Here (Not Forever) Move the Mountain
Father Time/Against the Wind/Under Flaming Skies/Darkest Hours (Any of those, not all of them)
Nemesis
Outro

Or something like that... hehe :)
I also think Timo likes more... mid-tempo openers, so... I'm not sure if Halcyon Days will really be up there.

One song that they haven't played live for a while is No Turning Back from Destiny. That is one of the best fast songs they've ever made and they could easily play it instead of Father Time or Speed of Light. Other cool song that they haven't played live for a while is SOS and they could easily replace Hunting High and Low, Eagleheart or Paradise with it.

I don't know if anybody have suggested this, but Just Carry On would be a helluva live song and great suprise for many. And although that song was made at one of the darkest moments, are those times still important part of the bands history.

Problem with SOS, No Turning Back, etc. is that these songs are just way too high for TK these days. I'd rather remember the songs as they were back then instead of hearing TK squeal himself through SOS' chorus now.

Kamelot play even the japanese bonus tracks on the tours. I don't know why I'm telling this but probably can change strato's mind xD

4 or 5 Songs from Polaris-Elysium
5 or 6 Songs From Nemesis
3 Old Stuff

Deep unknown
Forever is today - Higher we go
Under Flaming Skies - Infernal maze
Elysium - Or Darkest Hours + 1 or 2 old stuff
Abandon
Unbreakable
Halcyon days
Fantasy
Dragons - Stand my ground
Nemesis
Season of change - Eternity
Hunting high and low
Black Diamond

No ballads - I wanna Rock! xD, ok maybe one, If the Story is Over, Move the Mountain. Maybe a Mix like A Drop in the Ocean - Forever in Elements Tour.

Or Maybe they can do a Medley, like at the Elements Tour with old Stuff.
But then we have 2 hour of shows...
It doesn't matter, they play faster in live than in the studio, so I think 18 minutes of elysium easily can be played in 10 minutes... xD ...

And if the new stuff don't works in the tour.
They can do it like Iron Maiden with a
"Some Episode back in time" or "Visions back in time" or "A New Visions of Europe" or whatever...
Just kidding.

The whole nemesis album

+ emancipation suite and elysium!
We don’t necessarily discriminate.
We simply exclude certain types of people.

They really should make a mix. Lot's of a new stuff and few classics. Songs like Black Diamond, Paradise etc. which we have heard million times should be missed from the setlist.

Let's imagine that they would play 15 songs. I would like to see a setlist something like this:

1. Under Flaming Skies
2. Deep Unknown
3. Unbreakable
4. Kiss of Judas
5. Darkest Hours
6. Forever Free
7. Castles In The Air
8. Halcyon Days
9. Visions
10. Winter Skies
11. Fantasy
12. Higher We Go
encore
13. Somehow Precious
14. Stand My Ground
15. Legions

Something like that would be nice.

Yes, now I remember. But you know, it seems really a financial disaster for them to play in USA :?

Yeah, just that I didn't know they were coming! I just found it about yesterday. I'd have loved to see them.

Hopefully they'll come, it's been far too long since they last came. And it'd be good for them to be back in NYC.

We love 'em here!

Also, I don't care what you play guys, as long as you play Season of Change.
