timo tolkki
the comments on blabbermouth are hysterical.
now, I think nix and timo t announced this a while ago, but its been so long I thought it was shelved.
as I read the press note I cant help to think the scenario that brought this two together...."father and daughter relationship" yeah right.
the brief songs that are showcased in the epk are really interesting I might buy a copy if the price is right
did you notice that the press note totally lacks of social media, wtf?
and also projects like this are usually with touring/experienced/famous singers since nix is almost a newcomer to the scene how this project will be sustainable without touring?
those songs better be damn good.

I'm pregnant with tolkki's baby.

The previews sound terrible imo. Really bland and dull.
Re: timo tolkki
The last decent thing Tolkki put out was Paradisum. Since then... eh... I stopped caring. It's a pity, given that he created so many albums and songs which helped shape me as a musician and (to a lesser extent) as a person.

Music sounds a bit generic, production wise sounds a bit dull... I'm not hooked really

I'd rather watch Tolkki eat burgers in a room alone.

Re: timo tolkki
this is hard,
I kinda like the song... did I miss a solo or what.. by the way?
the vocal performance is good I think for the overall song, it lacks of power, doesnt have a "hook" for me.
there was no budget for back vocalist? come on.
as for the video, my guess/opinion is that the artist had to manage that entirely maybe including even paying for it, that never turns out for good, I know.
but I have to say there is quality there, just lack of direction.
wouldnt it be nice touch to put creepy guys hidden around the scenario/stage with a camera effect a la the ring movie?
what she is staring at/walking/singing to? there no concept, a video needs concept.
the concept cant be the "hot singer"
specially if she had not charisma at all, smile?scream? an inviting open hand? a flirting look? not here and those are the most efficient cliches.
goddammit there is a line that says take my open hand.
open the hand to camera! thats the audience!
I wanted this to work , seriously.

Re: timo tolkki
Toolkits been on a bad streak lately though when it comes to music... even if he does get it back, will people still be listening to his stuff? I haven't been impressed with any of his stuff since Paradisum.fuck wrote:Agree 100%rikkertje wrote:The previews sound terrible imo. Really bland and dull.

Really? I find her to be very weak. Listen at 1:32, "I'm not afraid to dream again", the pitch corrector couldn't even save that. She's just crooning in the song with nog emotion at all. Can't stand her.adrian9 wrote:the vocal performance is good I think

is crazy, seems like it was patched for different takes rather than just pitch corrected, still, for most people is almost imperceptible and to me it doenst make or break the song.
also some of the comments on youtube are very mean, I really wonder how all this will end up.

This woman should be ground into sausage and fed to feral dogs.
My chief complaints are as follows:
1) Her exceedingly high opinion of her belly button, which she believes the world must see.
2) Her insistence to caress herself with impunity, rubbing her hands on her shoulders, neck, and face constantly, as if trying to improve blood circulation.
3) Her misguided belief that "I'll take the best things for my life" is a well formed and meaningful sentence in the English language.
Also: the fake choir sounds are an atrocity.
Over and out!

Second full song. Musically better than I Am Alive. Still boring. I can't stand the tatatatatatatatatata synthesizers in the verses.
And again, her voice really sucks.

Another one!
How people can say she's a good singer is beyond me. That chorus is awful.
