Hello there. I just read the new issue of a big swedish managzine called "Sweden Rock Magazine". There was a 4 page interview with you, and it was really good and well written and cleared up alot of things.
You seem to be a really nice person, and I have to tell you, I definately agree that Kotipelto cant write songs lol! I bought Waiting for the dawn the othr day and was so dissappointed with it. Really boring songs.
Thank god you didnt let him write any strato songs :p

So I just wanted to say it was a great article, and good luck with everything!

You're almost right, but there is
one song on Episode wich have
been composed by Kotipelto: Uncertainty(Eventough it's produced by
Tolkki).

You can also make joke out of it:

Journalist: -What do you like about Uncertainty?
Tolkki: -"What can I say?"

Oh, stop the asskissing!
Kotipelto writes really good songs and we all know it....I'm not going to lie about it and say what I think Tolkki wants to hear.

BOTH men together wrote the great songs Stratovarius was known for.
And Jens writes good songs, too.

In my opinion Kotipelto writes good songs, at least half of his album songs are great, but Waiting for the Dawn is not really his album, there's Gas from HIM, that can't play fast drums, so I guess Kotipelto had to adapt his songwritings to many different musicians, which is not something easy. Half of the songs are great, two are masterpieces in my opinion... But, it's the first album, the new one will be different, much more personal, and listening to Reasons song, it's a very great song!!!
Hei, loztdignity, can you make some kind of report about what Tolkki says in the interview? I really would like to know it!! Thanks if you'll be so kind!

Well, it´s your opinion.I say Kotipelto can write really great songs(Uncertainty, Knowledge and Wisdom, Arise, Movement of the Nile...).Really shame, that he had so few opportunities to write songs in Strato.

You should Know the difference that Kotipelto is vocalist and Tolkki is guitarist. :)

Well, in my opinion Kotipelto is a better songwriter than Tolkki but still Tolkki is the KING! Without his wonderful and incredible good music Stratovarius would not be..

Everybody can compose three-chord hardrock songs, but I doubt Kotipelto can compose as great like Tolkki. Think about Visions, Elements, Destiny, Anthem Of The World, Soul Of A Vagabond, Night Time Eclipse and Hymn To Life - all tracks composed by TT. Long tracks with different moods and great melodies.

Of course there were some of those in Waiting For The Dawn, but Tolkki can do it all in one song, Kotipelto needs an entire album. What's the difference? :)

koti might be a good songwriter... we buy his things.. but we have to agree two things: he is not a composer as timo, and his songs aren´t so good as Timo´s
Timo, you´re the best!

I like Waiting for the Dawn. It is a good album, but different from Stratovarius.
And I like Dream With Me. Itis one of the best Stratosongs ...

Of course tolkki is a better composer than Kotipelto, but don't forget that WAITING FOR THE DAWN is the FIRST album of Kotipelto... compare it to Fright Night, and it's much better! C'mon, don't tell me Fright Night rocks, because he doesn't, though it's a good album...
Let's give Kotipelto a chance to be comparable to Tolkki, let's see how will be COLDNESS compared to POPKILLER. I think that Kotipelto's album will rock! And I hope that Stratovarius new one will rock as well, with Katriina singing!

That's it Luca!
Strato nowadays looks like Angra 4 years ago. Many people thought that there wouldn't be neither Angra nor any other band with André Matos, Mariutti and Confessori. But what do we see now?
Angra ressurected and released Rebirth (in my opinion one of the best that they ever released) and the other guys formed Shaman, that released the WONDERFUL album Ritual. I really recommend you: DON'T MISS A CONCERT OF THESE GUYS!!!
Now, coming back to the Strato world, I hope that Popkiller will be as great as Rebirth, and, who knows, Kotipelto and Jörg form a new band?
That would be really awesome!!! :D

Gas?? I didn't know that...HIM is my favourite group and so I think Gas is quite good at drums. But does Gas play the drums in the whole album "Waiting For The Dawn"?
Oh, and I agree with you about Kotipelto being a great singer...but I don't know very much about him alone and him in Stratovarius, so I don't feel like expressing any opinions.
But "Reasons" is definitely an outstanding song!

P.S. A question: are you Italian?

Gas plays well of course but he can't play power-metal or fast songs. And I think that Kotipelto can't write so many good slow songs... Gas plays in 4-5 track, the lasts of the album, and they are quite boring because the drumming doesn't fit with Kotipelto's kind of writing!!! I like HIM a lot too, though... :D :D

Koti has just about proved that he can stand on his own as a musician--he has my respect and the single is great!

I say"just about" because there are many 15-minute of famers out there, there are many one-hit wonders. Lets see if Kotipeto is still around, on his own 5 years from now. Its like when Tolkki said something like great bands not being recognized until after/ for 100 years. If he is referring to Strato, they won't even be known 50 years from now much less 100(unless someone puts their CDs in a time capsule)! That sounds harsh, I know, but I am a realist. Beatles/Elvis caliber only occurs about once or twice every 100 years.

Of course many bands want to hire Koti because they recognize his talents, and eventually I think he will go in this direction.
