It´s very common especially in creative types. There is at least another famous metal musician that has it, namely Devin Townsend. Here he talks about it a little.

Yes, I thought it was more than that! It only becomes known if some well-known person becomes afflicted with it!

Yes, I thought it was more than that! It only becomes known if some well-known person becomes afflicted with it!

Although men do have bipolar disorder, it is much more common in women.
Alot of people have it&suffer with it for years not knowing what is wrong.
To be honest, Tolkki is recovering rather quickly.....he was out of the hospital over a week ago, and posting on other forums last week. so, he is doing great!

IMO he can do it, but, let's wish'im the best, few musicians in the world are match for him

Let's let a doctor make a diagnosis. We can throw around terms all we want, but they have formal training in diagnising mental disorders. Any psychologist members? :spin2:

Aren't Timo Tolkki and Stratovarius written the same way in Finnish and English?

Anyway, I think you've been mistaken. Around that time last year (mid-October to be exact) Tolkki wrote to the "Letters to the editor" -column of a Finnish afternoon paper about a TV-show called "Idols". I even posted that letter to this forum, you can read it here. I'm sure this Taneli guy just did the same thing on Imperiumi.
