Thunderstone is GREAT!!
I have some pics from the Stratotour in Norway...
Check
http://home.blacksilence.net and you'll find it by searching the news...
BTW - Does anyone have any bootlegs with Thunderstone?
I'd like to have!!!
They're a very great live-band...
'bout the albums:
The first was great, the second wasn't sooo great IMO...But the bonus CD on the limited edition was king of the hill...

I like THUNDERSTONE very much.But I don´t have their new album yet.Pitty I think.....
I think that THUNDERSTONE will become(or maybe BECAME) one of the best power speed metal band ever.

I don't think they are right now...
But they could be...
Let them get some years of playing and stuff...
This will be something big I think...So we have to be prepaired...

IMO, the first album was very good. The video of VIRUS is great! I think they are a good band--maybe in time as great(almost)as Strato!

THUNDERSTONE RULES!
I have both "Thunderstone" and "Burning" and the both of them really rocks!
I saw STRATOVARIUS in Stockholm last year and Thunderstone as a pre-band and they ruled the stage! Symphony sucked live even though they are a good band on CD. but anyway, THUNDERSTONE ROCK!

I read that they have a pretty crazy stage act! Their bassist is pretty off the hook, also.

Dont agree at all. Symphony X´s perfomance and technique was very impressive, Thunderstone was easy listening though

I was not there, but some people said Symphony X outshined Stratovarius at those gigs. Hard to believe! I guess it everyones opinion who was the best. Sometimes headliners do take a backseat to the support bands.
But, that move by Tolkki to have those 2 great bands as support was sheer genius! I admire that decision very much!

I saw Strato with Symphony X and Thunderstone last year in 013. I didn't really enjoy Thunderstone, but I liked Symphony X and I too thought they have a technique that reminded me a bit of Strato's and that they can reach that same level in due time.

when i saw the three bands (strato, symphony and thunderstone) live last year in april, i thought it was a very good show from all three, though strato easily outperformed the other two. stratos show was IMO brilliant, the other two were very good.
hope to hear a lot from thunderstone in the future when there is no more straovarius

I agree all the way with ya!!!
but I'll add:
Thunderstone WILL become something like strato in the future...believe me!
And 'bout the gigs...
All those 3 bands in 1 made my best concert experience in my life!!!

It's a shame that Pasi left this band after "Evolution 4.0".I hope that someday they'll play together again

the band has a member that have played with stratovarius members. i think that makes it related. Mirka Rantanen has drummed for kotipelto and RR

Stratovarius and related bands are:
- Stratovarius
- Revolution Renaissance
- Cain's Offering
- Kotipelto
- Johansson
- Lauri Porra
- Timo Tolkki
- Project Dreamspace
- Warmen (maybe, if it's related to LP or TK directly, can be passable)
Anything else is misplaced.

Is LP still in Warmen? If not it also doesn't belong here.

any band with 6 degrees to kevin bacon belongs here.
if a member has worked with a member of another band that makes the bands related

If we go by that, we would have a shitload of bands in here. I mean, look with how many bands Jens and Jörg have worked together.
I say we go by the list that fernandotcl posted.

members of sonata arctica and stratovarius have both played on each others records in a span over 8 years so i think that adds them to a related band list.

Jens had even Hammerfall in here even though there are no shared members.
Only the fact that his brother plays there and that he played on their last record as a guest.

We're talking full-time members and not guest appereances. If we go by guest appereances then we have even more bands here.
What about Evergrey? Jari plays there full-time now.
I'd say:
- Stratovarius
- Revolution Renaissance
- Cain's Offering
- Kotipelto
- Johansson
- Lauri Porra
- Timo Tolkki
- Project Dreamspace
- Evergrey

A lot of bands should be added to this list,in which stratovarius members and ex-members played or helped them by some way.Like dreamtale(Tolkki produced some of their albums)and thunderstone (tolkki played some solos on a few songs)
