Popkiller?

I´ve seen some forum members here saying: "whatever man, as long as they release Popkiller", or "I´m looking foward to see Popkiller" or even "I Hope that Tolkki and his brand new studio will record Popkiller", and more "Popkiller" and so on...
I mean, are you folks thinking that the new album will really have that name?
:buh:
This discussion took place before, i think the name is lousy...but aside this fact, as we saw MissK droping off without even singing or metting the other members...i have this feeling that Popkiller will follow her destiny...what do you guys think?

Well, I think we have established the fact that Popkiller was just a working title, so I wouldn´t worry about that... Personally I don´t give s*it about what the next album would be calld, if there only was a next album :(

In my opinion popkiller is still an idea..a tolkki's idea...
an idea burned in a period of difficulty and criticisms suffered for the two last albums...2 album that i love..expecially the 1st... following the criticisms he wanted to make to understand that the group was starting to change... but i say :follow your own way...can be pokiller...missK...koti...you...
just following your own way you can make beautiful music....

Popkiller is an extremely bad name for a Strato album (or anything related to Strato). Even though I hate pop, the name Popkiller has nothing to do with the spirit of Stratovarius. Now if I saw this title on a black/death metal band's album... it would fit perfectly :D  ;)

I agree. In fact i hope they won't change their style.

Popkiller is the working title! How many times do you need to be told that! We just don't know its official name so...

And where did you get the information that Miss. K has dropped out of the band? Really, I mean it, where?

Well, Timo Tolkki said that "Stratovarius is Timo Kotipelto, Jens Johansson, Jörg Michael, Jari Kainulainen and Timo Tolkki. If this line up is not possible, then there cannot be any band called Stratovarius".

He said more directly:
That is the most fair thing to everybody, no matter the financial disaster which will be the result for all of us in who are left the band (excepting Katriina who I am planning to release from the contract in this case).

I really HOPE this happens, because Popkiller, with or without Kotipelto on the vocals, would be maybe the worst album name of our era!

Haven't you people heard the Tolkki interview where he explained the origins of the working title? Funny little joke and has nothing to do with pop music. :)

1). it was implied that if Koti didn't return, he would change the name of the band and keep playing with miss k.

2). Miss K would be released from the current stratovarius contract if Koti doesn't come back, because it isn't fair for Miss K to pay for all the albums they didn't make when she just joined. She will still be part of the new band.

Only the time will tell what will happen but I agree with Diego . I didn't like the idea to use Popkiller as a album name. If Koti back to the band I'm expecting different name and lots of the yet written songs to become left-out material because I'm sure most of them are written in the bad times of the stratovarius with musch anger . When TT was ill. Most of them will not sound well to him I think now, when he aren't in the same bad condition.

Popkiller is just maybe woking title for new album. I can say, that Jörg has recorded drums for next Stratovarius record. So Jörg has done his work for new album. Timo Tolkki is now working with new Dreamtale album.

Yeah, I'm still laughing about this new jr. member browneyedboy... And I watched even the member list: there are even browneyedkabbalah and browneyedtrailers

Poor BEG... :)

About the topic: PopKiller idea was born when Tolkki was in the worst period of his health crisis, so I actually don't think it can still be considered as a working title.... It's like thinking that new album will sound like Pantera and no double-bass drums, like Tolkki said in that period... The future is there to be done by Stratovarius... I only hope that the real line-up will be togheter again... because no stratovarius without that line-up!!
Hei Timo, Timo, Jari, Jens and Jorg, do you even know how wonderfully you can play LIVE?? Think about thousands of crazy fans in front of you. And welcome again if you will decide to go on as Stratovarius!!!

The next thing you know there will be browneyedman, browneyedwoman, browneyedlady, browneyed-----
Well, you get the idea. :eyes A million possible combos...
Maybe I should have chosen a simpler nick like MusicLover, Dumbass, or even my own Name! 8) =P

But this PopKiller thing---I am going to suggest something contraversial(thats me!): On the next album, a a bonus track, why not include a demo song by Katriina? If her voice was so great as Tolkki declared, let him put his money where his mouth is, and lets hear it! I'm truly curious and others are! Also, this could help sells of the album a bit, don't you think?
Of course, if she is released from the contract by then my suggestion would not be possible&maybe the past should be left buried------it was just a wild&crazy suggestion. What else do I have? :crazy2:

i don´t think so...Koti and MissK in the same album...i believe IF he returns, a lot more space and attention should be given to him...and sharing with another vocalist...i don´t believe it´s a nice idea...

Hello? Does anyone have a clue of what that "popkiller" means? Tolkki explained what's behind it and it has nothing to do with any crisis. Study your Stratoshit if you call yourself a fan ;)

You are right, but i think it is very dangerous to judge the album only by the name, nevertheless the most important thing, overall, it`s the band`s destiny as you say, now, that is a fact!.

I know what is a Popfilter... And what's nice on popkiller, anyway?? It's off-style, anyway, and many people will just understand POP-KILLER like everyone that didn't read metalmeltdown interview.... Just bad... :buh: :buh:

Actually the final title for the forthcoming album won't be Popkiller, but COCKPORN KILLER.

i'm sorry for being rude, but why are we still discussing this? Popkiller is a working title, END OF STORY.

Its not like its gonna be Visions Destiny Intermission Elements I, Elements 2, and then from there its POPKILLER, TEA-TIME, CHILDREN OF FLORIDA, I ENJOY PORK.

Relax...
