This question has been asked before, but never in a pool-mode!
Let´s see what do you guys think of that and we could come up with some good ideas, and with the participation of the newbies, as well!

It's the old line-up, or no line-up for Strato.

I have no problem with Strato carrying on being called Strato without Kotipelto, but I say to Timo T that if Kotipelto does not return and he wishes to write more music, that he change the name to something different from "Stratovarius".. for his own sake, and new members' sake.
Not because I think I have a right to define what means Stratovarius, (only 5 people can choose that) - but because many people would pre-judge the music before listening to it, and not give it a fair go.
It would be a shame for TT to quit music totally if he could not get Kotipelto back. I hope he carries on if this is the case, but I would be so sad if he had to suffer more fan prejudice as he has in the past 6 months.
So, Timo, in our celebrity-worship-based culture, many feel the mind and art of the "idol" is their personal property and reflect their identity upon it. (it's not an individual's fault, but a fault of culture.. not criticising any individual.) As such, conditioning leans us to feel we choose the label and reject what doesn't fit what we "need".
I'm not saying I agree, but I think that's how it is. I feel that in other forums that I post in, that people are accepting and being empathic and sympathetic about your health problems, and I haven't seen a trace of the vitriol that I saw a few months back, even from the biggest former critics in other power-metal forums.
I feel that people will generally support any new material with the Magic Five that we all know and feel comfortable with, and require unity for emotional equilibrium.
Still I think best to change the name if not the Five... for maximum acceptability from us the fans.
But don't introduce and new band members as freaks.
/end rant. Peace, all! This post is not a personal attack on anyone, but if anything, a criticism of culture of pedestalising. Which I am guilty of too.

I go with the first. The time's not right to justify my vote.

Congrats, Fireblade, you had the most meaningful, logical, respectful post about this subject.
Completely agreed.

Anyway, if Koti doesn't want to rejoin, the decisions whether they continue as Stratovarius or not will be taken by TT... And whatever it is we'll have to accept and respect it.

You forgot the pro Miss K answer
So i wont vote, because i think that all this crap on the board, in packages and so on was total senseless. And in a way i would be pissed if i was announced as member in such a bigger band and then end up elsewhere ...

I guess the MissK issue is included in "no matter what" option...so vote!

The Line-up NOW(TT,TK,JJ,JK,JM) is accepted as Strato. BUT, I hope TT goes on creating and making music with another band, with another name. I'm sure it will do well. In the end, its up to him&I wish all the guys the best of luck in the future! They are all bright&talented--I'm sure they will all find a successful niche in the music world!

I agree with beg. If you say Stratovarius, you say TT, TK, JK, JJ, JM.
I go in the second option.

If Koti decides to rejoin the band, but Jorg says no as he´s playing with Saxon now and he´s always really busy....should Strato continue without him? What do you think about it?

thats what i hate about these sorts of polls, its always about Koti and Tolkki, what if (like Gon said) Michael said no? Tolkki said in his statement that he realised Stratovarius was himself, TK, JJ, JK and Jorg Michael, would he betray that speech and just get a new drummer?
Good question Gon. I dunno, knowing Tolkki I doubt he would stick to his word and split Straovarius up if Michael said no, i reckon he'd get a new drummer. But thats me. In all fairness though I's carry on even if Koti said no, so it doesnt matter which member is missing.

Even thou Michael is one hell of a good drummer i feel he hasn´t reach John Bonham´s level to knock a band out because of his presence (lack of it)...

Maybe there are better drummers than Jorg, but, relating Strato, it´s difficult to think in another one replacing him, after all these years being the pulse of the band on stage. Of course there are excellent drummers that can be the new Strato kicker, with similar style ( no necessary to put names...) but his involvement in the band will be almost impossible to reach by another player.

Replacing a drummer, guitarist, bass-player or keyboard player is a lot easier than changing your singer. A band is oftenly recognized by its singer, so replacing him (or her) will cause the current fans to adjust to this new singer and not everyone is capable of doing so.
This can sometimes lead to a new revival (like AC/DC, after Bon Scott died), but there's no guarantee Strato will ever become popular again if TK indeed does quit the band and MissK (or anyone else) gets appointed singer.
If TT wants to continue with another singer, I agree with Fireblade and say he should change the name of the band to something else, since Stratovarius will alwyas be the band with both Kotipelto and Tolkki (and to some extend the other three band members - no offense to Jens, Jari or Jörg) and if Koti leaves the band, Stratovarius is, IMO, dead.

Yes, probably Strato gets dead if TK and TT don´t reach any kind of agreement.

Well, I voted yes. Since it's not unusual if bands change their lead vocalist. Has happened many times.
But sure of course I do like and have enjoyed a lot Stratovarius with Timo Kotipelto on vocals. So, we will see... %)

At least, they will continue,sure.

But they need to think and consideer everything that happened in the last times, and make an effort to make Stratovarius exciting again.

No. Unless Tolkki starts to sing himself again. That would be cool.

I didn´t consideer that option in Strato... but it could be fine, if TT recovers from all this shit.
