Re: Kill The King
You damn tooting Tolkki kicks ass on that song! :headbang: He proves he stills has what it takes to be one terrific Heavy Metal singer!:luv1:
I hope TT sings more on his own&someday becomes a frontman again with another group of his own! Am I dreaming too much??? Anyway, TT still has a great singing voice&I hope he does more with it besides back-up.......of course, thats TTs business&his life. I just hope he realizes how much fans still love his singing&never gives it up!
Dreamspace is the ultimate expression of TTs talents--I love that album! And his vocals on CVAT are spectacular---THATS what I'm talking about! :music:

Re: Kill The King
I really like the song Kill the King.
TT's voice is just so much more suited for the role than TK's.
And well actually my favorite best part of that song is the instrumental solos, for some reason it sounds especially awesome to me.

Re: Kill The King
Great song it is. It's good to listen to some Tolkki singings too, even though I prefer Koti more. But sometimes we need Tolkki too, don't we?
Re: Kill The King
i must agree with BEG, the vocals on CVAT are absolutely brilliant...and Dreamspace isn`t far from it either...
some more songs with Tolkki on lead vocals would be interesting...maybe a duet with TK...mmm...i`m dreaming again...

I did, but TT does it better.
Megadeth's Kill the King is a totally different song.
No copyright on song titles, I don't believe.

Really ? Well, I think the original version is waaaaaaaay better than Strato-cover.browneyedgirl wrote:Figaro1 wrote:who knows the fact that KTK is a Rainbow song, not a Strato-song?

Re: Kill The King
i think it wasn't recorded recently i believe it's from the old times when he was the singer so we can't tell if he still has that something...does anyone know when was it recorded????browneyedgirl wrote:You damn tooting Tolkki kicks ass on that song! :headbang: He proves he stills has what it takes to be one terrific Heavy Metal singer!:luv1:
Re: Kill The King
It was first released On Father Time single in 1996. It was also released on a Dio tribute-album in 1999. Dunno when it was recorded, though...soulforged the second wrote:i think it wasn't recorded recently i believe it's from the old times when he was the singer so we can't tell if he still has that something...does anyone know when was it recorded????browneyedgirl wrote:You damn tooting Tolkki kicks ass on that song! :headbang: He proves he stills has what it takes to be one terrific Heavy Metal singer!:luv1:
Re: Kill The King
i think it was recorded in the Kotipelto-period, due to the sound of guitars and the speed of the synthesisers...which are most probably played by JJ...so..pretty recent in comparison to Dreamspace.

Re: Kill The King
Darn! I thought it was recorded more recently--about 2000, maybe--right before the release of INTERMISSION!

Re: Kill The King
Yeah, Kotipelto said somewhere that he didn't want to do the vocals because he has "too much respect towards Ronnie James Dio".Lugarid wrote:i think it was recorded in the Kotipelto-period

I think that TT won´t sing again. Why did he stopped with singing anyways?browneyedgirl wrote: I hope TT sings more on his own&someday becomes a frontman again with another group of his own!
BTW:The Strato version of this song is much better then original.
Re: Kill The King
Disagree. TT does it well and this is one of the best covers Strato did ever but the original Rainbow song is better for me . Maybe , because I was old enought to listen the original Rainbow song a long time ago ...browneyedgirl wrote:Figaro1 wrote:who knows the fact that KTK is a Rainbow song, not a Strato-song?

Re: Kill The King
I don't really understand this discussion about "which one is better". They're different. Different players, different things, even some changes in the song itself. I like both in their own way.
