Post

Hi every body, I'm new in this group. I discovered Stratovarius a few months ago. A student talked to me about that wouderful group. I love Dream Theater, Rush and The Tea Party. I'm a guitarist my self. I only wanna know what Timo Tolkki is playing with
Don't tell me a guitar, that's not the question. I'm talking about his kit. It doesn't sound like a Stratocaster. If it's not, why the group is name Stratovarius ?

Stratocaster+Stradivarius "FU-SI-ON...HAH!" = STRATOVARIUS
It's simply a words game.

I understand, but he's using an ESP. First, when I heard about Stratovarius, I tought he was playing with a stratocaster. But, hearing it, it was clear that he wasn't. There's no other reason than a words game?

If you are a guitarist, I'm sure you know, that the word Strat has become a synonym of rock-metal guitar playing.
Even someone who's not a musician can know what a Stratocaster is, I think it's quite a canon expression.
Besides, how would ESPvarius sound?

Right Benphu (cute name), I understand now. My problem is I am a guitarist and for me Stratocaster doesn't sound like Stratovarius. Well, that's for me. Even my wife knows what Stratocaster means. For her and for a lot of people, it's sound metal. Don't ever ask her what ESP, Ibanez or PRS is. Good explanation.
Is it possible that in their early days, he was playing with a Strat?

Hey Holy Light! Someone for Pittsburgh and Boston should say Go PATS! or Go Steelers! Well, I say Go Colts either, thank. But, I don't give them winner next week.

Even if they win, they will still have to face Pittsburgh.

Of course it's possible. I think he plays it even now.
Which guitarist doesn't?
