About touring in general

I've seen a lot of posts regarding where Stratovarius will play during this tour, so I figured I should write this, since I am not sure everyone knows how the booking system works. This is the way it works for most bands, and I don't think I'm wrong in saying it also applies to Stratovarius (by all means, correct me if I'm wrong
)
So it's like this: the band does not decide where they play. The way it works is, promoters and concert organizers from the countries invite the band to play there, at a certain location - the decision of the location is also up to the promoters and their talks with bars, clubs, arenas, etc., and is based on several aspects, like CD sellings in said location, and the general popularity of the band there.
In case the band accepts the invitation from the local promoter, then the show is booked.
I don't know much about how the rest of it works, but my main intention with this was to say this: it's basically useless to ask "When will you play here?", or "COME PLAY IN QWERTYLAND!" - try getting a lot of people's support, and convince a local promoter in your region to invite them
It might still not work, but it'll at least let them know that there are people in that region who want to see Stratovarius.
Hope this helps clear some doubts.
EDIT: Here's a useful link, from Blind Guardian's forums, saying how the touring business works - it's about BG, but I think it's good for people to get an idea.
Cheers
