I think this forum needs another Moderator.

Post by NeonVomit » Wed Jun 01, 2005 5:32 pm

I think someone here should be nominated as a moderator. Because Jens and Timo T are understandibly far too busy to do it themselves.

Someone who is reliable and sensible.. but who? I say HeavyMtlClickWitch would be a good choice for moderator. NodicStorm as well.

Who else?

There are other moderators as well. Jens has already told about it before, that some of his friends are moderating here. The best idea so far... the moderators before just didn't care after some months. :(

What about You, Beast_Pete? You seem like a fair and reasonable guy.
How old are you? Does age really make a difference? I think its how fair, impartial, and well the person does their job that counts.

I'm 20 years old, and I have some experience in phpBB forums, but I don't think, that they would need an extra moderator. And if I became one, I would not be allowed to spam anymore. :(

No!!! Not me !!! never!!! :D
First I'm too young indeed (lol), and second it's too much responsability and I don't think I could moderate in a "nice" way cause I'm a bit too "honest" (i always write what I think, which sometimes makes pp think I'm a rude person), and third, no one probably enjoy my jokes.

Nordicstorm would be a great moderator indeed.

Or Equinox, or TS, or Shurik, or... I think we almost all could do the job pretty well.

It should be a senior member. Not just someone who has loads and loads of posts, but is also sensible and has been a member for a long time, and posts regularly.

I guess we must wait until Timo/Jens decide when/who will be a new moderator to look after the forum.

True. But they need a WebMaster as well, because during the tour, Jens won't be able to the stuff I bet... or at least not that often, as it would be needed.

Very true. We have people here who've been members for a very long time, they'd be suitable for it.

I think Dawn_is_Here, Cliff, and Patricia would all be great Mods. HeavyMetalClickWitch would be good, too! And, NordicStorm and Shurik would. There are plenty of good people to choose from who would rule with their head, and not their heart.
Well, you have to have a heart, but I mean objectively, clearly and fairly. Strict when needed, and leniet when needed.

a while back I was on a Forum that had a lady Mod---and she hated me. She would pick my posts out specificly and rip them to shreds. I felt like I was in English Comp class. Later, after I quit the Forum in disgust, I found out why the Mod hated me, and it was because of a VERY childish and stupid reason. :? She was old enough to know better! :?
Thats why I say MODS should rule with their HEAD and not their heart.

Well that's the idea. I'm sure many people here would make excellent moderators.

I'm not really a frequent poster now, so I won't be a good mod ... Besides it, I'm already an admin of my univercity's forum and it takes lots of time, in addition to the time the actual studies take ...

Well I'm pretty sure the finnish side has some people that would be great for moderating it.

I´d say it would be nice to have a statement from Jens or TT, because its in a way useless to bother if there isnt a chance for "fan moderation" anyway ;)

I like the idea, it surely wouldnt do any harm, as we have quite many people who would be able to do the job well...

Well, thanks for the nomination, but no thanks. My plate is quite full at the moment with non-forum-related activities...besides, I've already been moderator in this very forum, and it turned out quite disastrously ;)

But if they do hire new moderators, a few words of advice: If everyone's pissed off at you, you're doing your job right :D

I agree with you CottonCandy.
I wonder that isn't here other Administrator to do for?
I mean "Administrator" isn't only Forum admin , that Admin needs access to FTP etc.
If it is necessary to change the code or something...
