Stratovarius Community

Hey to all of you strato-folx!!!
Here's what I think is a great idea for the tour...
For example Stratovarius play a song on their set where Joachim sing, and HammerFall play a song wher Kotipelto sing.
Or another thing wich could be cool...Stratovarius play a HammerFall song on their set,and HammerFall play a Stratovarius song on their set...
I think that would rock hard!

Joacim would totally ruin the song he sings in and Koti would be wasted. This is a bad idea, just let HF play their crap alone and then let Strato kick ass :headbang:

You have right. "The voice of HF" is underqualified to sing a Strato song.

I think he could do some Strato ballads better than Kotipelto.

I'm not a big fan of HF, but I think Joacim has very nice voice when he doesn't try to scream too much but keeps it soft. And on the other hand, Kotipelto sounds very loud and metallic when he tries to sing softly... That's what I meant.

Kotipelto > Joacim

well...i agree with jaako...kotipelto has indeed a better voice than joacin....but joacim has a great voice....i went at hammerfall show yesterday and he was perfect at the high notes like in hearts on fire....i think that he has a soft voice that cant be pushed to much....but in ballads he sounds great....and for hammerfall heavy songs hes voice is also ok

ps. anders broke the tv of the hotel room he was staying on one(can't remember which city they were playing that day) night of this tour ..and he together with oscar threw the tv out of the window ....lol
can't say what happened next....

It would be nice to have Hammerfall on the U.S. dates. Or at least the Ohio show.

this is true. Joacim is a really good singer when he sings in a "low" and calm register, not when he is screaming too high which makes him sound like a sheep.

But i disagree about the metallic thing about Kotipelto. For example, he did an amazing job with that ballad for Karhuveljeni Koda, which almost made me cry when I hear it. His singing was perfect in it.

Still, I think Joacim is a really "limited" singer. Except in the ballads, most of the times, his singing is always the same. Thus, his singing is too "sweet" in my opinion (or perhaps the sweet thing is just Hammerfall). Kotipelto can sing in different ways, and can sound quite agressive sometimes.

Personally, I don't hate Hammerfall, but I don't like them that much, at least not their recent recordings. F*ck, they have Anders Johansson, he is an in-cre-di-ble jazz/fusion drummer which can play fast and different stuffs. Why just ask him to do only "bim bam bim bam bim bam" all the time ?

Just the unholy Alliance of Strato and HF gives me second thoughts on attending one their shows....

i like them, and i think joachim has a fantastic voice. their new album is great.

Not all of us hate them. Just look at the posts. Only 3 or 4 users posted their "hate" against HF from thousand of registered users!

i think both Stratovarius and Hammerfall are good at what they do, it would be interesting to listen to them play one anothers songs. this rubbish about people saying kotipelto is better, i don't think hes better, don't get me wrong, i respect kotipelto 110% i think hes a fantastic singer but you can't say joacim is the worse metal singer. Hammerfall and Stratovarius are 2 different bands playing different music, so its hard to compare who is a better singer out of the 2

I think Joachim sings very well. Especially live, when he shows that he is a great singer that can sing almost everything. I agree with
Destiny_SOS. Hammerfall and Strato are way too different to compare. Both are great bands (But I like Hammerfall more ) and it would be great to see them together live...

Indeed JLB is certainly not the best singer ever (and he's a poor frontman), but he's quite OK (and still better than Joacim), and that doesn't prevent DT from being one of the the best bands of all-times. In case you hadn't noticed, DT is not only about the singing :p

Agreed. There are so many other things that prevents DT from being one of the best bands of all times so why stick with just complaining about LaBrie

Well, I used to be a true LaBrie-Cheese hater. But that was only until I heard his voice on the studio albums (yeah, I only had live stuff before I think his voice sucks live), and it was pretty cool.

But with a singer such as... huh, Russell Allen, like Symphony X, Dream Theater would really become even better
