Bah, again you can see a lack of moderation here. If there would have been ´em, this topic wouldn´t have lived anymore.
Is this really worth of anything? I don´t think so.

:funlo:
But of course I say which ones are the best and worst: Best: Dreamweaver 10 and Alpha & Omega 9½ Worst: Luminous 5½, I´m Still Alive 6

It seems you don´t know many other music forums. For example Sonata Arctica forum. Everywhere there it´s normally forbidden to make this kind of vain listing topics.

As long as its a peaceful forum, Spam will be tolerated. Start nit-picking over every itty-bitty issue&the peace ends. Thats just how it is. This isn't English Comp class.

damn right, its like an inquisition over there, if something was mentioned 4 months ago, you cant make a topic about it since it was already discussed, i mean, damm how can you have constructive discussions over there

Alpha and Omega 4/10 Boring.
Walk to my own song 3/10 Strato has already done this song a million times. This time the vocal lines are downright annoying.
I'm Still alive 6/10 Pretty basic Stratovarius song, fast double bass and an uplifting melody.
Season of Faith's Perfection 9½/10 Great vocals by Kotipelto. The song is melancholic and full of bathos, "Just the way I like it, ahah". Nice nod to Mother Gaia in the solo section. Weird keyboard outro.
Awaken the Giant 5½/10 Pretty boring riffs and drumming like in Alpha and Omega, nice experiment with Kotipelto's vocals though.
Know the Difference 5/10 Nothing new. Fast and indifferent harpsichord melody, Strato should really know the difference

The solo part is nice though. Kotipelto sings way too high in the chorus.
Luminous 8½/10 Calm and soothing song. Good lyrics, they may be sappy, but I like 'em. Kotipelto's voice is full of emotion.
Dreamweaver 9/10 Great chorus, great melodies, great vocals, great arrangements...a song that definitely should be on Strato's setlist.
Liberty 3/10 The first verse shamelessly imitates a known Finnish christmas carol called Joulun kellot(Softly, softly). The demo version Vapaus even starts off with the same lyrics.
Overall Elements pt. 2 was a big dissapointment for me. Only 3 good songs.

4 months, that´s a ridiculous time. I´m normally used to see topics already 2 or 3 years old and a new topic about the same thing is forbidden.
@fiftea: The example thread was an illustrative example of a way how to behave on a good forum and the moderation works there.
I´d say this is the only loose but not a joking forum I´ve read. It seems many of us likes that way but because here is only Jens as a moderator and he isn´t online so often, nearly everything could happen. For instance, if there would have been continuos moderators, this topic would have definately been deleted or locked.
I´m sorry but I´ve seen that a good moderator must be quite strict.
@Lapazeus: Tuhannet kiitokset!

I´ve tried to think of which well-known christmas song the Liberty reminds but haven´t managed to found that out.

Off-topic: about the SA forum... in my humble opinion, it's good, if a forum is well moderated, but for me, the SA forum is too much moderated. I can't find that fun there, what I found here. Everyone tries to act like a moderator, and they treat newbies not in a nice way... not even close to it. It's true, that newbies are nerveracking sometimes, but patience is a basical human property, so we just have to tell the newbies to read the rules, not "fuck-off". The moderators will delete these useless stuff nontheless, or they just let them disappear.

About Sonata-forum, yes I wonder the role of the so called Peacemakers there. They aren´t moderators but tries to steer newbies to follow the rules of the forum. (Of course newbies must be treated a bit not so nicely

) But on that forum, the Peacemakers sound too much like Besserwissers.
And I can´t stand there one of them who dislikes Kotipelto´s way of singing badly.

really, well ive only been there for about 4 months so, that was my uninformed opinion
and i really like the strato forum, nice people (most of the time), no serious moderation (why the hell would this topic be deleted by a moderator is beyond me since it is technically a stratovarius related topic with a nice setup to share one's opinion)

About Sonata forum I have no clue, I´ve been there a member only two months. But I meant the other forums I have read.
Yes, luckily here the most people are nice and friendly. That helps a lot, otherwise this place could have been something...
About the role of this topic. Please read for example the rules of the Sonata forum and try to compare this topic to the forbidden topics there. I´d certainly say this meets all the requirements.
