I'm just wondering how the band feels about playing the smaller club gigs here in the States when they're usually known for playing large stadiums and open air festivals all over Europe?

Personally, I don't like any large venue shows (won't go to shows at Verizon Amphitheatre, Rose Bowl, etc) regardless of how much i like the band(s) playing.

I'd rather see the band(s) in smaller club/theatre settings (Gibson, formerly Universal Amphitheatre is about the largest venue I like - decided to get PIT tickets there to see Danzig & Mortiis on the Blackest Of The Black Tour! )

i prefer club concerts...you can listen better, enjoy better and all is better...big venues, yeah, they are cool, but you can lost some details and you cant see the show as well in a club gig.

Agree..The big venues are cool but i prefer little places too, for the gigs in general, cause it's more nice, i mean that the sound is better and people can enjoy more the music.
I could say that little halls are more intimists...
