The SETLIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!, in Buenos Aires

Post by Freedom Fighter » Sat Aug 20, 2005 7:14 am

Well, what can i say?, The best day of my life, the show was amazing. Stratovarius is back, with more power than ever!!!!.
First of all, i got to say that Lauri Porra is a f****** genius. On the stage this man lose control!, totally, Much more energetic than Jari. He gaves to band so much energy.
After say that, The setlist, I don't remember the order of the songs, but i remember what songs, here they are:

-MANIAC DANCE
-UNITED
-THE LAND OF ICE AND SNOW
-AGAINST THE WIND
-TWILIGHT SYMPHONY
-FATHER TIME
-WILL THE SUN RISE?
-SPEED OF LIGHT
-LAURI PORRA SOLO
-SEASON OF CHANGE
-FOREVER
-BLACK DIAMOND
-KISS OF JUDAS
-LEGIONS
-COMING HOME
-DESTINY (ALL THE 10 MINUTES)
-HUNTING HIGH AND LOW

I think they forgot some songs, like Paradise or Eagleheart, they din't play any elements songs, I really like those albums, I was expecting to hear at least one, but didn't happend.
Nevertheless, the show was fucking great.
One last thing, The realationship of the band seems very well, at least on stage, You got to see Timo Tolkki jumping in Maniac Dance, with a big smile in his face. :) :)

PD: Sorry for my english
Don't give in to the hopelesness
Keep the innocence in your heart
And the end before your start
Be the warrior of the light
Don't give up without a fight

That sounds so great! :rvd:
I think I will go to the StratoShows here in the States, after all.
Maybe the ones up North, or even, California.
I think I want to see this show with those great songs!

Sure!
That's awesome...
Season of Change and Twilight Symphony! 8)
But there's only 3 songs from the new album.
There could be also Fight, it's so great!
Maybe it could take place from Maniac Dance, Fight is a lot better.
But I don't complain!
I'm waiting for the gig in Helsinki!

Great setlist indeed... and Lauri Porra solo? :P
Interesting. I haven't seen Lauri live, but I have saw him in some photos and he seems to be excellent liveplayer and gives extra energy to band liveshows.

And Coming Home! SUPER!!! I have always wondered why they don't play it live. Fucking awesome song.

Coming Home? I love that song! It is a beautiful love song! A while back I let a friend listen to it&at the time her husband was doing service in the National Guard. Well, she cried. She said that song should be the soldier's love song because it sunded like that what it was written for. But, actually I think it was written about musicians, whose tours take them far from home&loved ones. However, this song could be appled to any person whose education, or livelihood takes them away from home for any length of time.

I feel this song was written from Tolkki's heart.
"Your life is yours, and yours alone. Rise up and live it!"

Guys, there's another post about the show in Buenos Aires and it's a little older, so we can keep the conversation together in one single post and that would be better: http://www.stratovarius.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6985

Somebody said they just played 3 songs of STRATOVARIUS, note that the album is not out yet... the single, maniac dance only includes maniac dance and United. 2 of the 3 songs they played.

I'm sure they will play more when the record is out in the street.

An interesting setlist indeed. But I miss Eternity, We Hold the Key and Infinity instead of Against the Wind and the f*cking Will the Sun Rise?. Otherwise I could say that these setlist gave everything for everyone. Fast songs, some new songs, the normal hits (HHaL, Black Diamond etc.), the epic ones (Destiny, though Infinity would kick 1000x ass more than this  ), the "United" songs (United and Legions) and sugary ballads (Forever, TLoIaS and Coming Home). :P

Well, maybe they grow their setlist within the tour. But anyway, Season of Change rocks like hell. :headbang: [/i]

Maybe Fright Night?

WTSR would not make much difference to me, though I like the song very much, but Agaisnt the Wind could NEVER be replaced in the set list, and it's the same for Father "Fucking" Time!

oh my god it was fucking amazing, the best show everrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

It was perfect, so much energy, amazing, it was greatttttttt

Lauri amazing like in the kotipelto show, he played "por una cabeza" a argentinian song, it was really nice.
Everybody singing reallly loud ( and here its really hard because everyone is jumping, killing each other to get to front and you dont have anyenergy )

the sound was fucking greatttttttttttt

kapel maister was great also, the played a couple of new songs and some old ones.. gonzalo the guitar player was amazing.

EDIT: Ups i forgot... in twilight symphony they played the violin parts with the keys and guitar, i couldnt belive it

Maybe the ones up North, or even, California.
I think I want to see this show with those great songs!
Nonono you shall come no closer to me!
Bah just kiddin. I mean if they come to USA you have to go to their concerts. Reading the reviews here leaves you NO choice! Who knows maybe the band will split up again after the tour and you'll only be able to say you missed your chance :(
A while back I let a friend listen to it&at the time her husband was doing service in the National Guard. Well, she cried.
Oh GREAT JOB, mission accomplished.
Jerk. :P

Regarding the setlist:
Paradise is missing, obviously.
The land of ice and snow I don't think really belongs there, in South America anyway. GREAT that they played Season of Change. The essentials are there (Agains tthe Wind, WTSR, Black Diamond, JUdas, Legions, Destiny, Forever) but what about the elements :(

Timo singed perfect, he is really a pro.

The land of ice and snow was really perfect, because first they played a tago called " por una cabeza " ( lauri played it ) and timo said: well we played a song of argentina now we are going to play a song about finland and they play it, it was really nice

Browneyedgirl, you have GOT to go to at least one Strato show! C'mon, you are a huge Strato fan, it wouldn't be right for you to miss out on their first time coming to the U.S.!

Granted, I don't live in L.A. anymore like I used to, but as soon as I knew Strato was coming, I knew I had to go and if it took saving my money all year long to do it, it was worth it!

I'm going to try my best! :) This is the chance of a lifetime! :headbang: I have waited for the chance to see them live for 4 years! :D

BUT, there are a few people in this Forum(even though they are "fans" themselves)would LOVE to see me hurt by not being able to go. They would cream in their pants/panties to see me miss my chance. Well, THAT gives me more strength&faith to go see them somewhere on this USA tour. Where? Dunno--yet? I'll probably keep it secret to keep the whole thing from getting spoiled by malicious assholes. :eyes:
