Can we return to the Episode-Visions-Destiny Sound?

The new album is better, but it is still missing the sound and feel of the time between Episode,Visions, and Destiny. Will we ever hear this style of music again?

Probably not. Music evolves as people grow/change.

Is that so terrible?

Whatever Stratovarius does, it is the best for me! I know, Strato has composed very good songs with double bass and so on, but they have to go their own way, to develop itself and the music/style so they do what they feel and that is still the best you can do in the music business.

I miss these songs too but if you like such songs, feel free listen to the old albums and that numbers. And imagine a Fight!!! with double bass? Imagine a single double bass number on the new album - it wouldn't not fit to the concept, to the other songs....

Yes. For me their new stuff just doesn't hit me as the older stuff did, i love all the albums apart from this new one, and i'm not too keen on Intermission, but the other are brilliant.

I share totally your opinion.

Artists aren't really artists when they don't experience all their talent... I mean they have to twist all their possibilities in all the ways to create new things. They have to evolute and not to do the same things everyday or year...

Everything has a limit. Jörg said in a recent interview for a brazilian magazine that he is not interested in recording Visions for the Nth time. It's not even a matter of evolution, but sometimes you need some changes, or everything you do will become boring. That's what happened with the power/melodic/speed sound made by Strato: I heard Elements Pt 2 just 1 time since I bought it. The new álbum I heard, at least, 100 times.

We can take back the Strato holy trinity (Fourth Dimension - Episode - Visions) if we want to hear songs like that, I think.

well same to me *lol*

It is not good to make every album the same. IMO Stratovarius has done a big step forward with this album and Gamma Ray is still on its place with Majestic... So which album you'll listen in 10 years? Exactly, the Strato one, I'm sure!

Trying new things is what makes the world go around! :)
It would be a boring world if everything stayed the same all the time----that is especially true in music! :)

New experimentations will be the best to try for them.
Stratovarius did always it and they'll keep on this way for sure. That's a good thing.

Of course Episode and Visions were absolutely unique and really excellent. IMO Visions is one of the best albums of all times.
But what would be the sense in forcing to create the same kind of music again? Although sometimes it's hard to accept, but Stratovarius have developed. And after the Elements-albums, which were IMO very low and uninspired, at least Pt.1, they got in a promising direction with their latest album.

They have to create new songs and not to recreate old ones. IMO Elements aren't bad, very cool doublebass numbers, but you can hear first tones of a new direction, p.e. Papillon, Elements or Awaken the Giants.

I love the elements albums, don't get why people dislike them. And double bass.....me like
