Jörg Michael on tour with Sonata Arctica

Post by Beast_Pete » Tue Apr 18, 2006 8:34 pm

Yes, it's true. I met him yesterday on the Sonata show in Budapest. I don't know, what his job is, but he said he is travelling together with the guys on their tour.

A friend of mine asked: "Hey, isn't that the drummer of Stratovarius?" And as I looked at the entrance I saw that Jörg was standing there. We walked next to him and strated to talk with him. One of my friends said, that he was using a smaller drumset for the latest version, and Jörg answered, that we don't have to worry, next time it will be bigger again. ;) But there's no material for the new album yet. I asked, wether they come for the Sziget Festival this year (which is held in Budapest), and he said that it's sure, they won't. But we can sure, that next year they'll play in Wacken.

We didn't want to hold him for too long, so we went away to look around in the hall.

Maybe he is an additional drum technician there or just is helping Tommy there. As we know Tommy may be very admired to have Jörg there now as Jörg is his idol. :P

I guess that was agreed in the Strato´s gig at Oulu. Because I read from the Sonata-forum (Finnish side) that there were some Sonata-guys watching the gig there.

Big head=lots of brains. Right? =P Or maybe big hair! :D

Another definition of big head is snobbiness--Nah, that could not be it! :D

Hmm... Very interesting if true, because Altaria started the tour until the 15th at Herne! (Look www.altariamusic.com and there Live) While Jörg started with SA even from Swedish gigs.

No he isn't.
Few people know that, but Jörg is also a tour manager. I guess that's what he's doing following Sonata Arctica on the road :)

that has to be single most important function a human being can do in a band. Jorg, I salute you!

Yeah, I think he was also Nighwish's tour manager or something at one point.

That's what he does when he's not touring/recording with Stratovarius, I guess. The tour manager has, as you might imagine, an extremely important job and is very demanding. Jorg seems to be trusted and respected in the industry in that capacity.
