listen to Born In A Mountain Hill from Imaginations From The Other Side. the intro notes are identical to Maniac Dance.

I guess you mean "Born In A Mourning Hall".. Well, the theme isn't very complex, so i'd say it's just coincidence..

Speaking about songs that sound a bit alike, I've figured ot a new one recently : Strato's Playing With Fire and Dream Theater's New Millennium (the keyboard line at the beginning of DT's is very much like Strato's main riff).
