No Stratovarius in south east asia...

Post by riyunoa » Mon Aug 07, 2006 12:00 pm

Hi everyone, I'm from Singapore (south east asia). And I'm just wondering, how come Stratovarius never came here for concerts before? They went to Japan and stuff but never once here, and they don't sell the CDs commonly here also. This place is very Stratovarius-less... :(

I know it's not the guys' fault though. :D

Not enough fans there, I think. And it would be maybe expensive to go there if there would be 5 fans waiting for them :D

i guess the 'metal' thing is not that popular in south east asia. not only strao, but neither did other metal bands come there frequently... (correct me if i'm wrong. i don't know that much about singapore, just assume it is more or less the same as HK)
but they did went to HK once. and Taiwan. many other bands start to put HK in their gig lists too. so singapore has its chance as well. :)
imo singapore's chance is much bigger than...let's say, Indonesia  at least you don't need to deal with the religion issues~
but yes, culture and traditions are huge boundaries sometimes. that's the case of most countries in south east asia.

Yeah, actually you guys are right. I tried to get people here to listen to Strato and they just say it sounds like choir/opera music and that Koti is gay. :?

Not to mention the kind of things they say about Sonata Arctica and Dream Theater. T__T

I guess it's true about the culture/traditions stuff, most people here are chinese (I am too lol) and would rather listen to chinese songs (but not me... :()

But what they could say about harder stuff like thrash or death? Speaking about black metal I guess they´ll be afraid of it for sure.

Well, the fact that there's support in that part of the world at all is an encouraging sign.

But yeah, try linking up with others who have similar tastes. Together, you are stronger than you would be if you are each alone...
