SAANA TRAILER ONLINE AND PEACE WITH FRONTIERS
Check it out at
http://www.saana-warrioroflight.com
The site is under construction, but we will publish it in the upcoming weeks.
I am also pleased to announce that we found a solution with Frontiers.
Here is the official pressrelease:
Frontiers Records and Timo Tolkki are very pleased to announce to have finally reached an amicable settlement over the “Saana – Warrior of Light pt. 1” album controversy.
The Agreement for this album was executed originally in December 2006 and both parties performed the contract to the best of their abilities until the delivery happened in mid January 2008.
As a matter of fact, the album delivery started a strong controversy between the parties, based on certain contractual provisions, which echoed in a few days all over the world via the Internet. The bottom of this controversy was reached when both parties decided to go ahead and announce the release of its own version of the album, Timo Tolkki through the official Saana website and Frontiers through the regular sales channels throughout the world.
However lawyers and managers have been working very hard to mediate the differences and in the end they were able to accommodate both parties on the agreement that the rights of the release will go back to Timo Tolkki who will release the album (digital and physical release) on his website
www.saana-warrioroflight.com while Frontiers will be paid back the monies invested against the production of the record.
Timo Tolkki states: “I am very pleased that Frontiers and me have been able to come to an agreement in the end about the Saana release. We were able to come up with a mutually satisfactory compromise and we are looking forward soon to give you some news regarding my future”.
Frontiers Records label manager Mario de Riso adds “Timo is a very special person and Artist. We have a lot of respect for his talent. Of course his words went sometimes a little too far in this story, but the good thing is that we feel now much better and I can already say that we look forward to working together on new ventures. Something really exciting came out from all this story and we plan to reveal very soon some great news for all the Rock fans”.
A big thank you is due to mrs. Antonietta d’Angelo esq. and mrs Antje Lange for their assistance.
Based on the above, Frontiers Records officially deletes the worldwide release of the album “Saana – Warrior of Light pt.1” from its catalogue (originally scheduled for March 14th) with immediate effect. The record shall exclusively be available in digital and physical purchase at the
www.saana-warrioroflight.com and
www.timotolkki.com websites.

Yes, that is the future how things will be anyway. All the possible payment methods are there and in the worst case you can even send cash somehow.
I will supervise this whole shop and the logistics (shipping etc) are done by the ground.com guys.

Mmm'key, ten years after suing Napster someone in the business starts to see the light

Well... better late than never, I reckon
But anyways; the good news is that Saana will be available - at last.
Thank you Timo!

Good to hear that this is tidied up. I prefer buying direct from the artist than from a label.
Although if it was on some other label, it would be more distributed but whatever. I'm getting a copy!

I hope they will take International Money Orders because I don't completely trust the mail system with cash, or a check!

Have you tried
http://www.metaldisc.com
or
http://www.centurymedia.com
Both carried it the last I checked. Century Media was overhauling their website awhile back so you may have to Google it to get the correct link. Thats where I got H2Life at only $12.00.
Oh, both are USA based so if you chance them, it will take longer to ship the album overseas.

I am going to reissue both my solo albums sometime this year with some new stuff on them. I guess Hymn to Life is just out of print and I don't think they are going to do more copies. Might be because as one American journalist called it, it's "steaming pile of crap". I must be genius. I created a steaming pile of crap!!

One can do whatatever and there will always be at least one idiot called I-know-it-all who, pretending an expert, is totally off the trail
It's really nice to release the reissues of Hymn to Life for those who still don't have it, but I hope the new Stratovarius album comes out earlier...

Michael Kiske's vocals on Key To The Universe (one of the greatest performances ever by him) alone raise it significantly above "steaming pile of crap." I've actually listened Hymn To Life a lot in last few months and I've learned to appreciate it more. In my opinion a lot better than Classical Variations.

Isn't it today?
So, what is the release date? How can it be released today when nobody can buy it?

"Are You the One?" definitely elevates it, IMO. It is one of the most beautiful love songs&it has been sung at a few weddings that I know of.
Those sites I mentioned above must've liked H2Life because in 2003 both of them had half-page ads of the album in their mail-order catalog.
