Conditional fine set by Universal/Sanctuary. Source: Soundi interview.
RazielSR wrote:I don't know if you think the same, but all this shit SUCKS a lot. Why? Because WE STILL DON'T KNOW IF STRATO CONTINUES OR NOT. That's the only problem, not Tolkki's other projects, he can do whatever he wants to do, but he can't forget Stratovarius. It's like if you'd wish to forget how to breath.
More news when things have been solved between Universal/Sanctuary and Stratovarius.

I just hope it all works out.

Strato are one of the most important bands to me as a musician.

I guess music will exist in any case, but yeah.

I'd just love to see Timo, Timo, Jens, Lauri and Jorg put out more albums.

But I guess we shall see.

If Tolkki is not saying anything yet, he has reasons to do so. I doubt Stratovarius will stay alive, alive as in a touring, creating band, but of course we will always have the past musics to listen to.

Roadrunner is a subsidary of Sanctuary. Like I said, this is a complicated situation. :)

Ok there isnt written anything new but things are moving.
If Timo is asking Jens for live performances who is playing the keys in the studio ??

And a Quote from here

http://www.michaelkiske.net/_web/forum/ ... php?t=1210

"Michael Kiske indeed confirmed his participation on this CD saying that the songs and the lyrics are quite good. Michi recorded his lead-vocals for five complete songs, including the title-track Revolution Renaissance."

I Made a boo-boo! :(
Roadrunner is a subsidiary of Warner.
Here is a link to an article which gives Sanctuary's origin, and discusses its demise.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanctuary_Records

I think something needs to be said about the fact that RR seemingly has been worked on for awhile. IN SECRET. The vocals are almost done, most everything about RR is finished. The fans were not informed of anything.
When was TT going to tell the fans about all this stuff? Was RR going to just be sprung upon us with so much as a howdy-do? ???

Que Sera Sera, I guess.

What I'm waiting for is a new Strato album, although this new project sounds quite interesting. It is almost certain that I will buy the Revolution Renaissance album when it comes out, but it'll never replace Stratovarius. That's how I feel about this...

Anyway, can't wait to hear Kiske doing what he does best!

hmmm didnt Michael Kiske do the vocals on Timo's Hymn To life album? I dont think this would be the first time Timo and Kiske would work together if RR really is happening. So actually when you look at it that way with this info it now would actually make sense if Kiske was working with Timo again.

Actually RR would be the 3rd time they work with each other cuz I know for a fact they both worked on Avantasia: The Metal Opera part 1 and 2.

Edit: ok I just found with on Kiske's official website, the top paragraph we already know but take a look at the bottom paragraph :O

"In the latest issue of Finland's Soundi magazine, STRATOVARIUS mainman Timo Tolkki reveals that he has formed a new band called REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE, which is believed to have been the working title of the now apparently aborted new STRATOVARIUS album. The group's debut CD — which will feature guest appearances by Michael Kiske, Pasi Rantanen (vocals; THUNDERSTONE), Mirka Rantanen (drums; THUNDERSTONE), Pasi Heikkilä (bass; 45 DEGREE WOMAN) and Tobias Sammet (vocals; EDGUY) — is tentatively due this summer via Frontiers Records.

Michael Kiske indeed confirmed his participation on this CD saying that the songs and the lyrics are quite good. Michi(Kiske) recorded his lead-vocals for five complete songs, including the title-track Revolution Renaissance."

So this pretty much just confirmed REVOLUTION RENAISSANCE is happening(or I should say happend), is pretty much finished and Kiske is the Lead Vocalist. This is Stratovarius new album apparently done by completely different people(other then Timo of course)well from what I understand it looks that way at least.

There are a couple topics about all that stuff. You just have to read them. Alot of reading! :D

Oh, and Kiske was Tolkki's first choice for replacement singer during the 2004 Stratofiasco, but Kiske had his own project at the time&that was why Miss K was chosen.

Don't feel bad about your feelings. :) I think most of us are confused, many are disappointed, and lots are angry. Under the circumstances, how RR was "presented" to us, with the secrecy&proposed formant, those feelings are understandable! :)
And I do wish Koti was the singer!!! Thats what has me stumped. ???

Well its not like Kiske is bad >.> he is amazing. Up there with TimoK, Bruce Dickenson, James LaBrie, etc.

Probably the reason why he isnt in band/album is probably cuz its a new project not meant to replace stratovarius.

It is the only thing we need to know. I wanna see Tolkki here saying: "hey, don't worry!, this is just another project as Saana or Hymn to life."

But why he doesn't say it?

Because there's a contract? A conditional fine¿? I can't understand this situation. LaBrie, Kiske, etc, etc...they are all good singers, but wtf, Stratovarius voice = Kotipelto.

Sorry for Kotipelto, but I don't like to listen "Reasons" or "Sleep Well", etc. I want Tolkki's music with Kotipelto's voice, Jens keyboards, Jörg drums and Porra bassisting (well it's not very important for me the bassist).

I think we; the fans need more information about it. He can say all about that new band and nothing about stratovarius, this is the most depressing thing.
