I just wanna say that if they don't stay metal and make a rockish band similar to Kotipelto's band, they must be called "Lords of the wasteland" or "We sleep well, my baby".

That could be avoided by giving more space to Jens and Lauri in songwriting.

Should they call it Statovarius - don't think so.
Agreed.
I agree with that too. So I vote for: No more albums from Stratovarius.

Of course not by keeping the name Stratovarius for the band. If they name it somehow else OK.

I don't read the whole topic but is this meaning about Stratovarius with or with out Tolkki?

With Out. No Tolkki. With new guitarist.

What do you think, could this be considered as Strato album, if album with this tracklist would be published:

1. Ride Like The Wind (Johansson)
2. Why Are We Here (Johansson)
3. Glory Of The World (Johansson)
4. Uncertainty (Kotipelto)
5. What Can I Say (Kotipelto)
6. Curtains Are Falling (Johansson)
7. Serenity (Kotipelto)
8. Run Away (Johansson)
9. Angels Will Cry (Kotipelto)
10. Last Defender (Kotipelto)
Bonus track
11. Take Me Away (Kotipelto)

Yes, I know, these all songs are already published ,but that "tracklist" also proves for me that TK-LP-JM-JJ really can do a great Strato record without Tolkki.

It´s tricky to compare TK own band´s songs as Strato. If he will compose sth for Strato, most probably those songs would be at least a bit different as his own band´s material...

That tracklist would definitely make a GREAT fan album, Glory of the World would be the "Hit" of the album.
Not to mention, Lauri hasn't contributed to an album yet, who knows what he can do in terms of music writing?

I might buy this......add "Dream with Me" and I'd definitely purchase it! :music:

You're probably right. TK has said that his own songs are more like some 80's heavy metal than power metal.

But hey guys and girls, would you be disappointed if these all 11 songs would be fresh new songs on a fresh Strato album without Tolkki? Just close your eyes and imagine that you wouldn't have hear them before.

Listen that emotion on TK's voice:

Ride Like The Wind (at my opinion, TK at his best)

This is a very good point. In Finland he is very respected bass player. I believe that you people who live outside Finland don't even know how respected he is in Finnish music business. He has played every kind of stuff from pop and jazz til rock and metal.

I'm not 100% sure about this, but as far as I remember he was a co-writer in some catchy Warmen instrumental. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

He has written some songs for Warmen. That´s correct.

That's true.
His first solo album was rated 5/5 in the biggest Rock magazine in Finland, Soundi (and they rarely give 5/5 to an album!). Really respected bass player, but more particularly a respected musician. His first solo album is absolutely brilliant.

He plays in quite a famous jazz band called Emma Salokoski Ensemble.
He was also a member of the band Jonna's Problem, along with Tuomas Wainölä. Quite good old school rock, but the songs are all pretty much the same, totally boring live.

He was also a member of Sinergy (he replaced Marco Hietala who left to be in Nightwish) but now Sinergy is having a "we don't know how long" break.

Guns and Roses should have changed their name after all the L.A. Guns members left!

Add Megadeth&Metallica to that list, too. ;)
The list is, well, almost Infinite.

Well TT did state that this isn't like Deep Purple without Blackmore, since in Stratovarius basicly one person wrote all the material.

Iron Maiden had made 2 albums before Dickinson, imagine though what would happen if Steve Harris left.

In my opinion the remaining Stratovarius members should just keep whatever money Stratovarius' back catalogue is going to offer in the future and choose another name for their future projects. This would show some dignity and respect towards the guy that was Stratovarius and gave them such a great gift. They are all great musicians but without Tolkki it is a Kotipelto/Johansson/Michael project...

ALL 5 Guys are/were Stratovarius. They worked together as a team.
Tolkki sings good, but KOTIPELTOput the band on the map. If Kotipelto, Jorg&Jenshad not been hired, I am pretty damn certain Stratovarius would have stagnated in the mid-90s.

I don't know the legal side of this situation, but maybe they HAVE to keep the name Stratovarius until all obligations are fulfilled. ???

Aren't you scared about the TK and JM "feeling"? I mean...everybody knows they had a fight and seems they are not very good friends...I'm scared about it.
