After long time of listening to Stratovarius DEMO R.. R.. and listening to R... R... Album New Era I found out that stratovarius demo IS ALOT BETTER that New Era, But Mr.Kotipelto sounded a bit not in the mood for singing, and the ending of Glorious Divine was not good :S but I really LIKED the songs: ANGLE, LAST NIGHT ON EARTH, KEEP THE FLAME ALIVE :D
While The NEW ERA the singer of that album sounded like the singer of IRON MAIDEN :S and I'm not a fan of that band, so I didn't really like it :S

There’s no Bruce like singer on the album that I hear but if he does not like it he does not like it. now the part about an album being good or bad just because of personal taste just makes the words good and bad completely personal with no other relevance. But it’s also good he does not do the "I don’t like it therefore it sucks and the musicians all suck and can’t play their instruments" thing that some people on forums do.

punk_boy is not the only one.
BTW, Welcome to the Forum. :)

From what I've read on other Forums&websites, and what I've heard from many other people's opinions, most people as a whole DID like the Stratovarius Demo version better than the RR version. And, many people preferred some of each. Each version has its fans&criticizes alike.
It is just a matter of taste&opinion after all.

Same songs different performances. Don’t see a need to compare me really enjoy the songs that I liked from each of the signers and each performance of it. While I love rough cuts of vocals as well as perfect ones. If a singer does not perform the songs the way tolkki wants them performed I don’t think that’s a good thing to stay with that band.

That or Jorg is REALLY focused, I mean, I guess it's possible.

RR demos Jörg Michael and rest of the Stratovarius 2007 line up.

RR record had Mirka Rantanen on drums and Pasi Heikkilä on bass. Most likely Timo Tolkki did the keyboards himself and used a made up a name for a keyboard player on the RR record ("Joonas Puolakka")

I saw some pics a few years ago of TT playing keyboard, so thats possible. But, why make up a name? Playing keyboard in a band is honorable. :err:

He claims it's an 18 year old college student on keyboards.

I don't think he writes everything, I think he writes the lyrics, guitars, and tells Jorg, Jari (He hasn't/won't write any music for Lauri, all the bass work on Strato albums since Twilight Time were Jari), and Jens the basics of what they'll be playing, then from there they flesh out the song.

"Claims" do not mean anything. Run "Joonas Puolakka" through a search engine and see what's found.

:omg: Every entry on google circles back directly to RR or New Era. Nothing else! I believe Morko maybe right on this one, too.
But, once again. Whats the big deal? Is TT ashamed of playing keyboard, or something? ??? He should be proud of being multi-talented instrumentally.

Considering his age, I wouldn't be all too shocked to find out that this was his first record.

since every 18 year old college studant has a website dedicated to them it's shocking this one breaks the pattern

i cant speak finnish but this is a yearbook with a joonas

http://www.keuda.fi/attachments/jao/opiskelijat44vk.pdf

now since tolkki is apparently pulling names out of college students perhaps tollki himself is just a name pulled out from somewhere and the entirety of stratovarius is fake, just a publicity stunt as people love to call everything. In fact maybe all music is made by a publicity machine and then given random sounds and names.

Don't try to be such a smartass. Your thinking of Tolkki as being such an angel&Saint is now bordering on total disgusting. There is not a shred of evidence that says this Joonas actually exists. And even fledging musicians, most of them, have some kind of info on the web about them. What Morko says is believeable, why don't you face the facts. There are probably qute a few Joonas in Finland, just as there are many Timo's, Antti's. etc. etc. The point is, where is ANY info about the fledging musician&PERSON, Joonas Puolakka?

If you think stuff in music cannot be "faked" to appear totally genuine, maybe you should do a little research on Milli Vanilli. :)

Oh, I saw that link on Google about the yearbook, and it doesn't prove he played on the album. Not one iota. Nice try, though. :D

In the yearbook of the link. There’s a million timo tolkkis running around too. It might be, it might not be. There’s a difference between believable and hard fact. I'm not saying morkos wrong, just that I found a yearbook with the name in it. Have you looked through all the records of Finnish citizenship and through all the enrolements at the schools? Maybe tollki found the name, liked it and went with it. Perhaps for this reunion project the other two guys will “drop out” at the last minute and joonas and a drummer to be made up later will save the day. Perhaps the album does not get made.

I would say that that yearbook is the best proof that he plays the keys on New Era that we can get.

TimoTolkki wrote: Joonas Puolakka is an 18 year old music student from Sibelius Academy.
Very talented guy, but a bit shy. Know him through a guitar player friend of mine who studies there and suggested him.
His story seems to check out very well.

Timo twists the truth from time to time, he leaves out some info and maybe exaggerates other stuff at worst, but I can't recall a time when he's just flat out lied about something.

Maybe Jens found out something? ;)

Oh, I could say so much. ;) Maybe you cannot recall, but there are other people in the world. What you just said is what whats-his-name said about Richard Nixon before The Pentagon Papers reared their ass. ;) When something is written down, it gives things a whole new meaning.
