I figured this would be a good topic, what should the strato guys call their next album?

personally I think it would be cool if they got a bit nostalgic and called their next album either episode 2 or second vision.

unoriginal I know but I still think it would be pretty cool.

I think they should rather find a totally new title. I don't know what, it's up to them, but i'd rather see something different from the title of their past albums.

they should pick the song title from their long epic song

To be honest I couldn't think of a worse name

I don't know what they should call it really, the natural thing would be to have some reference to the break up, however that seems pretty expected so I hope that they're just going to name it something nice and neat in good ol' Strato manner.

Something which holds promise of good things to come from this band.

Something that symbolizes the togetherness these guys have. It needs to be something strong.

a- A broken past
b- Stradicaster
c- Black winter
d- Last (Lost) memories
e- Hellsinki will rise!
f- Another empty promise

Can't think of other sad names....

it's amazing what a good nights sleep can do, when I woke up this morning it suddenly came to me.

Their next album title should reflect their new status and in turn let people know it's a whole new band now

I was thinking something like

1.Genesis
2.New Beginings
3.New World

and my final choice would be

4.New Birth

such a pity that Brazilian band Angra had chosen "Rebirth" as the title of their first cd with the new line-up, otherwise New Birth could be a good name for the new Stratovarius album... it would sound very alike(?) Angra, it wouldn't be so nice to call it Rebirth...

Why should the new album title refer to the past? To the break-up or whatever? Bands are breaking up and forming in the old line-up or members are leaving and coming every day. If every band should name an album after every change (whatever crucial the change is), no album would have a "normal" name.

I do see your point and I can see how doing that would just make for weird names I was just thinking it would be kinda cool is all.

A very profound, meaningful one-word title would be fitting. Its the Strato-thing to do, after all!

Good Lord, some of them sound like names of Cults or something.
OK, they suck, but I tried.

I like the sound of Valkyries (or Valkyrie).
One of the singles could include a metal-version of Wagner's Ride Of The Valkyries as a b-side.

That's what I was thinking to, because, I must apologize Jens, but In Flames has more plays on my last.fm profile than Stratovarius, because I didn't install Last.FM until May 4th this year, and May 5th, I got my first exposure to In Flames at Gigantour.


HOWEVER, are you guys friends with the band? How friggan sweet would it be to bring in Anders Friden to sing a duet with Timo Kotipelto on a song on the new album? It would get some publicity for the band, and duets song sweet in Metal, (Dark Eternal Night by Dream Theater and Dead End by In Flames are the two best examples)

Dark Eternal Night has Labrie and Portnoy singing on it, so it wouldn't really be the same thing, now would it?
