Re: New album called 'POLARIS'?
That's swedish, and yes, that's what it says.
It says something about the Europe tour starting on January 2010 too.
I can't speak swedish but that's what it says it seems.
Polaris...you know...the northern star, polar star... really amazing name

Ever heard of Polaris Hilda in Saint Seiya anime?
This is her theme music:

I like the name, too! The brightest star in the sky(great symbolism)!
Re: New album called 'POLARIS'?
I really like the name, it goes well with the rest of the stratovarius album names I think.

POLAROID would have been a better name.
Maybe even KODAK.
PANASONIC?
FUJIFILM?
Yes, Fujifilm is my favorite of the lot, I think.

I agree with you. Very good name for a very good band. It really sounds promising and I long for spring even more. Think when you have the record in your hand and put it on . The feeling...
Re: New album called 'POLARIS'?
Not the brightest. The brightest is the Sirius. The polar star is "just" the most northern star... Why i like it, beauce it is almost stand on one place on the sky, like a guide line. Not the only guidline on the sky, but a fix point:) Cool name:)browneyedgirl wrote:I like the name, too! The brightest star in the sky(great symbolism)!

"Polaris" was recorded in the fall 2008 at Hästholmen and 5by5 studios in Helsinki, Finland. Mixed by the longtime confidant of the band Mikko Karmila the album became another shining polar star at the Northern sky. Powerful melodies mingle with sophisticated arrangements, strong anthems stand alongside heavy songs. 11 songs full of energy, musicianship, and a positive outlook.

Someone on blabbermouth already suggested "bipolaris".. honestly didn't see that one coming.AAAAAAAAAA wrote:POLAROID would have been a better name. Maybe even KODAK. PANASONIC? FUJIFILM? Yes, Fujifilm is my favorite of the lot, I think.
I like it myself, I'm more worried about this sublabel, 'earMUSIC' officially starting with a lower case letter.. somehow. It looks very strange if you keep the capitalization of that word in the beginning of a sentence.
It was midnight. The clock struck thirteen. earMUSIC released a record. This is a new sentence. earMUSIC likes the video synopsis. Here is yet another sentence.
I guess 'edel' also like to have all lower case.
But I pondered it deeply and apart from this small typographical issue I think everything will be great!

Does this mean the cover might have an "astronomy" theme?
Like, TWILIGHT TIME&VISIONS?

Re: New album called 'POLARIS'?
I actually love the name. Not only does it explicitly describe the nature of the product they are selling, but also clearly defines which sensory organs it should be applied to. Makes it very clear not to snort the album booklet, or chew on the CD case, for instance.JensJohansson wrote:I like it myself, I'm more worried about this sublabel, 'earMUSIC' officially starting with a lower case letter.. somehow. the ear books that the company is coming out with are a awsome idea to me. nice mix of audio and visual.
they could have been earRATIONAL and been about the ration of ears

Polaris is a very good name for an album .
It would be nice if you can have pics of the Pole Star and the Big Dibber as an artwork inside the albumcase or on the cover.

Fortunately, there will always be people to remind us what real and correct typography is. Fight for right capitalization, use of apostrophe, and other grammar rules! (and no, I'm not even joking! )JensJohansson wrote:

I love the name!
As I said in another thread, it's the name of an Atari 2600 game.
It's also the name of the PPC port of OpenSolaris, if I recall correctly.
And it's just damn cool by itself!
