Live Setlist?

I've been thinking about this for some time now.
This post isn't really about what people want them to play, cause I know what songs will come up but, I wonder what their setlist really is,
I imagine the first song will be Deep Unknown (hopefully), and the last song Black Diamond. Anybody know for sure what they will play?
I suppose they might change it depending where they tour

Re: Live Setlist?
I would love to hear all Polaris songs live
Re: Live Setlist?
I hope they played at least these new songs:
Deep Unknown
King Of Nothing
Forever Is Today
Higher We Go
Emancipation Suite Part I: Dusk
Emancipation Suite Part II: Dawn
When Mountains Fall would be cool to hear, too
They should bring back Destiny
Deep Unknown
King Of Nothing
Forever Is Today
Higher We Go
Emancipation Suite Part I: Dusk
Emancipation Suite Part II: Dawn
When Mountains Fall would be cool to hear, too
They should bring back Destiny
Re: Live Setlist?
You forget Winter Skies, is the best song of this album!Fuuso wrote:I hope they played at least these new songs:

But for me they could play the whole album, all the Polaris songs are so good!
Beyond Destiny they should bring back Galaxies & We hold the Key too

Re: Live Setlist?
That's entirely too many songs from one album. Assuming they do a 8-12 song co-headlining setlist , you're talking most of the setlist being new stuff. I suspect the first four in your list will be in the final setlist since they lend themselves to a live show very well.Fuuso wrote:I hope they played at least these new songs:

Related aside: Jens, if you read this, can you drop the final setlist into a forum post for us? Really don't want to have to piece together what I heard after the show.

come on man, they played both songs in 2006. were you there?
pd: they also played others of the ones I have listed here, but.. well, ermm...
Stratovarius must return to Venezuela soon. I heard that the guy of the show production company that brought Symphony X last year is interested in Strato here for the 2nd time!

And yes we're the two producers who are interested in bringing back Strato to Venezuela big difference is that Cheo has the money to do so, we're still in diapers and we don't have enough money to do so yet.. And I don't even know the band fee!
Back in topic.. Then let's change Forever for 4000 Rainy Nights or Dream With Me and Paradise for We Hold The Key or Cold Winter Nights

My comments for the set:Main set:
Hunting High and Low
Speed of Light
The Kiss of Judas
Higher We Go
Paradise
A Million Light Years Away
Forever Free
Winter Skies
Phoenix
Forever
Eagleheart
Encore:
Deep Unknown
Black Diamond
Remove Kiss of Judas and change it to destiny.
WE also need Forever is Today and Visions so make room for them by swapping them to Paradise and Phoenix. Then we have the most killer setlist ever.

Re: Live Setlist?
Why there is ONLY 3songs from polaris? I thought there is at last 5 maybe 6.. A bit stupid
There must be "forever is today" and "blind" too at last. "When mountains fall" is pretty good too
Why strato "afraid" showing these wonderful songs. Black diamond, kiss of judas, speed of light, hunting high and low etc. we have listened them for thousand times before.

Re: Live Setlist?
Perhaps because "We" (read: the UK) haven't had Strato tour this country ever in the 20-something years they've existed. Now, I'll try to explain it: In a country that you have never toured in but has a fanbase, would you a) Play the classics the fans want to hear or b) play songs from an album that wasn't even released in the country at that date.
So yeah, not everyone has had the chance to see Black Diamond, Eagleheart, Judas or Paradise live.

Yeah, I don't think it's a matter of they are 'afraid' as you said, alot of places they are touring have not heard them play at all, not even the songs from Visions, Destiny or Infinite and all the other albums.palarmux wrote:Why there is ONLY 3songs from polaris? Re: Live Setlist?
I agree with you, I also think they should play more new songs & also I'm a bit tired of Speed of light, Kiss of Judas, Forever, & Black Diamond, but the fact is that are new fans that also never heard this songs live, so I understand their choice, would be a dream for me if they'll play songs like Run Away, Galaxies, We hold the key, Destiny, The abyss of your eyes, Dream with me, Ride like the wind, & many other B sides & songs that they never played live before, but anyway who cares about this!?palarmux wrote:Why there is ONLY 3songs from polaris? Re: Live Setlist?
Black Diamond is kind of a trademark at the end of each show. Every show my blood runs cold at this moment.

Re: Live Setlist?
Hail..im not a big fan of Stratovarius, but here i think is the setlist for London (18th May) show, and for Firewind. The setlist look similar to the one in Nottingham i think:
Stratovarius (no instrument solo):
Hunting High and Low
Speed of Light
The Kiss of Judas
Higher We Go
Paradise
A Million Light Years Away
Forever Free
Winter Skies
Phoenix
Forever
Eagleheart
Encore:
Deep Unknown
Black Diamond
Firewind:
Head Up High
Tyranny
Destination Forever
Angels Forgive Me
Mercenary Man
Days Of No Trust
I Am the Anger
Maniac
Falling To Pieces
Timo K never put a foot wrong all night, he was impeccable, though he did admit that he had been vomiting (Wolverhampton and Nottingham weren't so good for Timo).
Anyway, i dont know Eden's Curse, but im sure they played this song called Angels & Demons. Not bad this band, but i find the vocalist a bit funny :p
Great show!! Cheers and stay Metal!!!

Polaris was just released, and most people haven't listened to it yet (except stratofreaks like us) also, Strato never played in the UK so they really have to play those oldies for the UK fans. This setlist for the UK is kinda similar to the 2006 tour, just without Visions and maybe another 3 substituded for some new songs.
I really hope that for the places they have been before the play more newies! If I don't get my KON live i'll get very angry!
Re: Live Setlist?
I found this on metalsetlists.com:
Stratovarius
Venue: Islington Academy, London, UK
Support: Firewind, Eden’s Curse
Intro (Clockwork Orange)
Hunting High and Low
Speed of Light
The Kiss of Judas
Higher We Go
A Million Light Years Away
Will The Sun Rise
Winter Skies
Phoenix
Forever
Visions
Eagleheart
Deep Unknown
Black Diamond
So:
+ Will The Sun Rise?
+ Visions
- Forever Free
- Paradise
Stratovarius

Hunting High and Low

Black Diamond
So:
+ Will The Sun Rise?

Re: Live Setlist?
Looks like they either have a rotation on songs in the setlist or they make the decision based on how TK feels his voice is doing. Understandable.
Re: Live Setlist?
Massively jealous that London got Visions it's one of my favourites!

Nah they played both A Million Light Years Away and Phoenix. Deep Unknown they didn't play, I'm pretty sure when I was backstage Jens said that it was an optional encore don't quote me on that though.CES wrote:

Re: Live Setlist?
That shows you how bad the acoustics are in the Cathouse. I was at the front row off to the left less than 4 feet from the speakers on that side though. I only regained hearing in my left ear this morning.
