Lots of other bands do that as well.
I know, but I though it made more sence to mention Maiden instead of "Growling darksluts" from Tobago...
Didn't Stratovarius themselves do that on Infinite-tour?

We don’t necessarily discriminate.
We simply exclude certain types of people.

That's how it should be, they should play more Polaris songs, because they are touring for "polaris" aren't they? :)

Yeah, I've already heard Deep Unknown, Higher We Go ans Winter Skies live from the new album. Now that I see them the second time, why not take i.e. King of Nothing and Forever Is Today to the set? :> Have they played any other Polaris songs still than those aforementioned three?

Yeah I think Polaris is a really cool album and it deserves more of it playing live.

C'mon guys trust in your songs, don't live in the past play more from Polaris. It rocks!

I agree! It was a bit of a conscious decision to skew the set for the summer festivals more towards stuff that people are familiar with. :)

I think you have chosen wisely so far, Jens :)
And I am sure that there will come more Polaris songs on the next part of the tour.
I have never seen Strato live, so I am hoping for a nice mix of new and old songs (especially Black Diamond, HHAL and Visions) at the concert in Oslo next year :)

Festival audiences are different than on "the band's own tour." In the public there will be a number of people who have come just to listen to other artists. In festival it is good to play well known, popular songs. This may bring to band new friends who want to get to know the music more closely.

In their own gigs can then play a freer range of songs, because songs are in any case familiar and the peoples know them.

One that would be great to hear live too is "Coming Home"!
Through the storms we've wandered
Many mountains we have climbed
But all the bad times are behind
The road is free - I'm coming home

Coming home is a really hard one in vocals to sing live...
...Faster than light, higher than the sky, stronger than steel...We´re the legions of the Twilight...

True, but such an amazing moment of music, and I trust Timo to be able to perform it perfectly!

Haha! Yeah, it has 7 songs from Polaris. Wich is enough for me. And there are some older songs wich aren't played that much, like Winter and Coming Home.

I hope that Jens reads this and maybe thinks about it! :P

I hope they play ode to priapus on the next tour:

priapus priapus hear me cry tonight
shedding tears of laughter, tears of delight
for tonights the night, when we win this fight
establish our home in phallustine as it is our right

priapus priapus, you god of gods
priapus priapus, you stud of studs
priapus priapus, your phallus is great
priapis priapus, more followers we'll create

priapis priapus hear me laugh tonight
ripples of sadness? masked behind delight
for tonights the night when we get a new sibling
stinky will bear us another A-member
And we will never surrender

And thus I was born, A7 is here
now i'm ganna go and git me a beer

:D Another song Strato can play. They know the melody.

I can feel your whole soul in my hair,
And it's whisper is telling me things,
Of the joy that is gathering near,
When you and I spread our blue wings,

Now I leaving my sorrows behind,
Find the freedom in soul and in mind,
We have started our find,
And you are always so kind,
So we fly,so we fly,

We are sailing high and low,
We are in the STRATOspere above,
Rising more and more,
Together we go,you and I,
Oh Priapus,oh my God,
You and I,you and I,
with the wind,
You and I.You and I.....

They DID play Visions at Sauna Open Air in June, and if I right remember reading setlists they have played it on several other gigs too this summer. I haven't heard that song live since Visions-tour in -98.
