The Worst Album and Song?

Okay, inspired by the favorite album and song topic, I decided to create the opposite. So, tell us your most hated (or, should I say, "least liked") Stratovarius song and album. Courage, friends!

The album: Fright Night
Their ability to make music was nowhere near the level they began to show in the upcoming releases.

The song: Thin Ice (from Dreamspace)
I have never gotten this. Its music sounds even more annoying than for example 030366. :) The shrieks are the worst though. :D

Polaris: Winter Skies, Falling Star, Somehow Precious, Emancipation Suite II, When Mountains Fall

Worst Album: Twilight Time - I've never been so bored while listening to a Stratovarius album. The Hills Have Eyes does have a kickass riff though. After this would be Elements Pt. 2. I actually really enjoyed Fright Night.

Worst Song: Toss up between Winter Skies and...well, Winter Skies. I HATE Winter Skies more than anything Stratovarius has ever created.

I like the older stuff, but not as much as the Kotipelto era. For me, maybe Fright Night is Strato's "less awesome" album. I don't like Full Moon and 030366 at all (030366 is passable, maybe).

That was easy. Now picking the best album and the best song would be really really tough, Stratovarius created too much good stuff over the years.

Babylon:I never get what the lyrics are talking about and the composition sounds incoherent.
Anthem of the world:very funny mixture of a comedic opening and serious body.

Well, Babylon was an ancient city(a VERY beautiful city, one of the most beautiful which ever existed) which supposedly resembled Las Vegas, I mean, anything went, so to speak. The people worshipped and sacrificed to many gods. It was what is now modern day Iraq(Baghdad, maybe?)
Anyway, maybe this song is either about the city itself from the POV of an inhabitant, or simply the POV of someone drenched in what is classed as "sin". ???
I am just vagely anal-lzing here! I guess TT had something in mind, his songs are seldom without some type of meaning, hidden or otherwise. ;)

Maybe Jens would know? ???

Thanks.I was informed of something before about Babylon, one of the four most ancient empires of the world. But why I get confused is that the lyrics seems nothing with the grandeur history but very hollow verbal expressions.Maybe I'm too dull to get his lyrics penetrated, but that's really what I feel. :( :( :(

Awesome how the tastes differ, even amongst the fans of the same band. Those two are both in my Strato top 10. :P

I really don't dislike anything that I have heard from Strato. I still need to hear this "Full Moon" track that I keep reading about on here.

But my least favorites would have to be:

Album: Fright Night
Song: Gotterdammerung (Zenith Of Power)

Well, they did not have slot machines or Barry Manilow in those days but I think anyone can get the gist of what I am referring to. :D
Babylon was just, supposedly, a very rich, opulent city bustling with millions of people who were doing all sorts of enterprises, and having alot of fun, too. Babylon was a modern city for its day. And, indications are, very openminded about alot of things. ;)
Hey, I can get written credible references about all that stuff. :D
So, Babylon became associated with sin and abandon, etc. etc. Hence, the Las Vegas analogy. :D

He's just got two user accounts.

Surely you don't have anything against that? :D It was a bit surprising, I have to admit... I had to count all the A's to make sure that it was indeed 'somone else' :p

No, nothing against, as long as people dont use other nicks in a Dr. Jeckyll, Mr. Hyde way to attack people anonymously. :D Thats why I was confused, too, I was wondering why he had so few posts, then I counted and it was only 9As!
I noticed we had a 2.0 multiple A registered now. This should be interesting. :D

Mmh, I don't even remember Full Moon that well. Maybe I should listen to it... at least I have it on... no! It isn't on my Elements, Pt. 1 bonus disc after all, that was Run Away. Oh, it's on The Chosen Ones. I need to buy that album someday, but at least my friend has sent it to me sometime. Anyhow, continuing with off topic, I was pretty clever with my Elements, Pt. 1 limited edition box once I got it. I used to have the jewel case version of the album before, so I switched the jewel cases because the old one had that Elements tour dates sticker on it. Thus, I have a limited edition box set WITH the tour sticker. :P Still, can't remember Full Moon, other than that didn't suck as much as Thin Ice. Need to listen to it. And Run Away, for that matter, since I don't remember that song, either.

Yeah, and I'm off to create an account browneyedgïrl.

Yeah, Full Moon had a great acoustic intro and such a great, psychedelic guitar solo. Otherwise it's, if not too artistic, just the thing you wouldn't expect from Stratovarius. Doesn't work very well - might even take the third spot on my worst Strato songs list, in fact. :) Oh, and Run Away isn't that good, either. A good chorus saves a lot though, and it also resembles what Edguy does nowadays. Commercial Sammet and Kotipelto trademark pop-influenced rock metal. :D

VIsions: Black Diamond.
well, just kdding here, but ok, lets try this.

awaken the giant
elements 2

That song is boring.

I'm not a big fan of when mountains fall either. It just sounds a little forced to me.

030366 I think is kind of cool though, lyrics aside.

I love the line, "If you are a virus instead, go away there's nothing for you here!" Gets me every time.

(BTW, whats with all the twilight time hate? that album rules soooooo hardcore! To each his own I guess. . . )
