Yep,he's done it again. In this previous thread about "borrowed" Strato songs, Jens pointed out that Lil Wayne had ripped an "Anthem of the World" sample for his song "Navigator".

Now he's done it again. Check it out.

Lil' Wayne - "Sacrifice"

Stratovarius - "Destiny"

Indeed.

Take the vocals out and I think it’s an awesome track. I do wish some power metal bands would use drums and bass like this since it mixes things up from the standard. Some are working with that a little but I have not seen a band based on this kind of drumming.

Lil Wayne is known to be a pretty big fan of rock and metal so I'm not too surprised he's sampled another metal track.

That said, it's not actually that bad a track. Never thought I'd say that about Lil Wayne but he's easing up on Autotune a little which was my only main complaint.

Actually where is the drumming on the song Sacrifice? Those drums are programmed. Still, if you generally mean that a drummer playing that bass drum leadingly... maybe that would be nice indeed. Although some bass drum patterns by some bands are pretty unique already. Still, it's always great to hear other than double bass drumming all the time. Jörg's good in making those pattern/bridge things though. 8)

Now as long he has permission to use the clips, and Strato's publisher gets paid, I can see nothing wrong with this.

In the meantime.....

Nice. I wonder how Tolkki would feel about someone using his compositions like this.

They didn't recognize the creator I believe. On Tunisiano's blog, there were posts telling something like he didn't steal anything, etc...

Holy Shit XD Another crappy hip-hop song sampling Stratovarius. I wish he'd at least pay the royalties to Stratovarius.

I doubt that the publisher will see any money. When this german Rapper stole music from 4 different bands, Dimmu Borgir was one of them, they had to go to court to get things done.

Yah, that's why the first thread was linked in this one. Uh - duh. Oops he did it again.

Actually, as far as sampling is concerned, this has got to be one of the best I've ever heard - and I hate the fuck out of hip hop.

I don't HATE pop or rap, but this really pisses me off. Maybe because the people that give me shit for listening to stuff like strato would hear this and think "lol, this is cool" but call it shit in it's original context. I also think "sampling" shouldn't just be singing over someone else's song. If you're gonna sample, do something creative at least, make it sound like something completely fucking different. Otherwise, learn to play your own goddamn instruments and write your own fucking song.

he is playing his instrument, his voice, and wrote his own lyrics, he changed the drum and bass. how else could sampling work, other from using a hook from another song? these songs also have dj work and that is a instrument that people need to learn to play

Actually I agree. Isn't the whole point of sampling using a sample and "insert" it into your music? If he would want something new he could write it himself or get someone to write it for him. But the point of sampling is using a hook from another song.

Justice use samples too, but they make something totally different out of them. That's what I'm talking about. It's just my opinion, but I think that's the only acceptable form of sampling. Stuff like what lil wayne or Kanye did with Daft Punk doesn't sit well with me. I think that kind of sampling is just plain ripping off someone else's work, and if you're going to do something so blatant you should at least get permission.

can you give some links to show your examples, or at least the song titles so i can listen to what you mean?

of course for sampling someone should get permission and give credit

This is exactly my problem. Sampling is very common in Hip Hop and I doubt that they'll ever stop doing it. Some call it lazy, some call it uncreative, some call it off-ripping but the results are very interessting at times. However, What pisses me of about it is that most of the artists whose samples have been used most of the time don't see any money.

They both like Stratovarius, and they both seem to think rap is music!
