Yes, but with another singer. Sorry warrencurrymetal, but I don't like your voice at all.

Heh, same. I recognize his skills, but I don't like his style.

:) I like his voice.
It would fit more in a Rhapsody of Fire/Queensryche song cover, though.
Nice job, guys! :)

The instrumental part is sort of trying to be carbon on original so it does not stand out as much for a cover as the vocals.
Voice is normal for the style, just needs to be controlled more. It seems power and enunciation could be worked on. Sort of sound like there is an effect on the voice that is detracting from it.
I’m not so fond of black diamond from the start though, people that like the song more can probably give a fuller commentary on the instrumental and all, everything seems solid.
Perhaps the next cover can have some rearrangement involved and changes in instruments and tones.

yah I agree the instrumental parts sound too much like the original but not much I can do, all I have is a JV-1080 which is what Jens used. I was thinking about doing the solo's different a little but the guitar solo was so similar to the original I decided to just stick with it.

For the next song for sure we will try and make it a little different.

Could you record "Rebel" next? or "Tomorrow"? Those 2 songs always get overlocked.

I like the whole song except for the vocals. I am sorry, but inevitably I compare your voice to Timo Kotipelto's. It always happens, it sounds really strange to me listening to a song originally sung by the original singer, no matter who he is.

I don't have Koti's timbre, so I wasn't going to try and emulate him. as for the vocal recording, I don't really dig the effect on the voice either. . .It might have been because of the limitations of the recordings though. Also, my voice needs some autotune (every singer uses it, Koti included) and a slight reverb. It sounds alot more controlled when mixed. I personally prefer Claudio's mix from earlier on the voice

http://www.kitch-en.com/claudio/Black_Vocal.mp3
but the track was unfinished.

The keys are very well played, (thanks plisken!)

As for the next cover, I want to do find your own voice!! Kotipelto is not too hard to sing, (aside from obvious timbre differences) and I think we could rock it.

Its not too hard to sing. Black diamond is actually a little harder because it takes place right on the register transition.

If it gets recorded, I'll sing it.

My advice is this:

If you can't sound like TK, don't try to sound like TK, because sounds a bit very ugly.

It would sound much better if you sing as your natural voice. Don't force it. Remeber that making a cover also involves giving to the song your personal seal, not just making the same thing again. Sing as you would normally do, not as if you were TK. But the cover is very good.

oh wow I didnt relize how much reverb and chorus was added until I heard the mix claudio did. I see if I can get another mix down and get the vocals sounding better.
