 This guy is great.
Check also Heeding the Call by Hammerfall Caleb and Don't Say a Word of Sonata Arctica and I was also amazed to see Eve of Seduction of Symphony X made into this kind of amazing version.

That is awesome. I've been a chiptune fan for about 3 years but havent seen any Strato covers like this one. Thanks for the heads up.

If you guys like this kind of stuff, go here:

http://www.8bitpeoples.com/

There is a huge underground following of this kind of low-tech music production.

EDIT: Just found 8bit version of Black Diamond and it is pretty excellent.

I always thought Strato Songs would make great video game soundtracks.

And if you all still remember the DBZ Videogame soundtrack thread from awhile ago, I think some developers seem to agree XD

They sound really cool, somehow I imagine if they had been used for nintendo games that they would have been for spaceship shooters like Gradius

This is very easy to do.
There's a tool that turns any MIDI file into an 8bit song. :D

Yeah, those aren't real chiptunes. They are just emulated sounds you get by dropping a MIDI file into a program and it makes an emulated sound of old chips. I don't think anybody made real strato chiptunes made in FamiTracker or FastTracker, or any other tracker software that chiptunes are usually made in. MML too...
