Same pbm here. Mine is 7Kb.
@Webmaster : maybe it would be a good idea to fix this limitation to 9Kb/10Kb ?

If it says that the avatar size is 80 x 80, it should stay that way! Do you understand that if you start uploading or linking bigger avatars not only the forum becomes slower but the layout starts to stretch. So keep your avatars at 80 x 80 and that's that.

I will also put a news concerning this issue to Forum News

This forum system can simply refuse to upload bigger avatars, as I've seen in many other forums. I think it's a matter of changing something in preferences ...

Big avatars and big pictures in signatures suck because they slow the forum and make it look like a picture gallery.

IMO there should be at least 160 x 160.....
or else it's WAY to small.....
just look at the stupid avatarsize in Kotipelto forum.....
speed is no problem.
just put a limit on the size in kb....for example 15 kb

Why? It just kills the layout, and it is still possible to recognize people by their avatar with 32x32 i think..

And like someone said: together with all those picture-signatures (which suck ;)) the forum would look like a picture gallery. Its just wouldnt be useful anymore.

This is so typical. Do you honestly think that our modem-users could care less that speed is no problem for you. But it is to them. If I would change the kb limit from 6 to 15, people would just upload bigger avatars and the forum would get slower and slower. Not to mention how stupid it would look when people would have all different sized avatars. One has 80 x 80 and other 160 x 160.

If the forum works fast for you, that's very good. But think about a message chain with 20 messages and each one has an avatar sized 15 kb. Not to mention the rest of the generated html-code. It may be fast on your connection but a modem chows that size a bit longer .

Let's try to be realistic here. Avatar size remains 80 x 80 and maxsize is 6 kb. End of story. Really.

nobody want's a Black/White forum(exept shurik of course....)

i'm member at a forum where it is possible to choose how big the avatars can be...(160x160 maximum)
i don't see anything wrong with it. it dosent look bad.
and the 15kb size was just an example....
and there really isnt many ppl with modems nowadays....

@ ppl with modems: Get Broadband!!!It's cheaper and faster!!!

It's not THAT large, is it ? (see BEG's...) And it weights less than 5 Kb. You're not telling me that it slows down the forum...

Yes, BEG's signature should be deleted too. Why your picture annoys me is not the loading time, I have broadband, but the layout problem, especially now when I can decide which color my forum is, it's too big, bright, too white for black backround and it causes unnecessary scrolling. Besides, I happen to know I'm using Mozilla and I know my IP as well. It's totally useless. No offense.

So YOU don't like it, but that's not a reason why I would remove it, 'cause I DO like it. Just bear with it or wait 'till I am bored with this one.
