Do you smoke?

Post by Electric Eye » Sun Nov 28, 2004 9:20 pm

I'm just curious?
If yes write why, if no also write why.
I don't because I'm against of inserting a harmful substances into my body, or at least I try to limit it.

I don't smoke because I can't stand the idea to have filthy smoke into my lungs :yuk:

That's the main reason, besides I don't see any good advantage about smoking, where's the good thing about it? And even pay for that?

No thank you.

If only smokers knew what's getting inside their lungs - they would stop immediately

I don't.

I have never even tried it, and will never do so. I do karate, and if I smoked, I would be less powerful and quick. And of course it costs a lot. Is there any good advantage of smoking? I think, no. I don't need it to make friends, 'cos even without it, I can speak to other peoples easily, I'm not a reserved kind. And there are very few things, that can make my nerves to break, so this is another thing, that I don't need the cigarrette for (many say, that it makes you calm).

P.S: 0 to Yes, 5 to No. Not bad. ;)

Could not have put it better myself.

As for the....ah....non-cigarettes.....

Apparently that sort of thing runs in my family. My brother, as it turns out, makes his entire living on it. But i won't be doing that either. Ever. 8)

Although many people are aware that there are poisonous substances in cigarettes, it is interesting that many dont seem to know that there are ingredients containing strontium and other radioactive materials which get embedded in the bone material for at least 10 years...

if i remember right ;)

Only socially.
The last cig I had was over a week ago.
If I never smoked again I would not miss it. I don't crave them. I have went as long as a year without a cig.
I can't say I do not smoke because that would be kinda hypocritical--so, I answered yes,- even though I do not have a habit.

On some occasions I like to smoke some pipe, quite seldom though. Smoking takes away unnescessary tension.

I dont, but uhh then I am underaged and the boysrooms are pretty well guarded by teachers  I doubt I will once I turn 18 though since all my friends are always whineing about smokers and stuff, tlaking aboiut how much it bothers them. I don't know the smell of smoke doesn't really bother me but I'd rather hang out with my friends then spend all my money on ciggs.

Unfortunately not. Here they have large anti-tobacco campaigns in schools. Many youngsters still start smoking. In related news, many youngsters don't know what's good for them ;)

Personally I don't smoke. Never have, never will.

I like what you are writting, neverthless, despite all those arguments against, people still smoke, and even don't care about people around them, who might don't like the smoke, eg. in pubs, when you wanna drink beer, and chat with pals, even if all of them don't smoke, there are still smokers somewhere else, and when you return home evertything stinks (sometime you may notice this in the morning ;) )

But, unfartunatelly, I think smoking is conducive to make friends, specially among young people. At party, there is always a group of smokers, sometimes they smoke in one place, you can come up to them, because the reason is obvious (a cirarette) and chat a little bit. The typical situation is when prety girls smoke and a shy boy want to meet them etc... (although in my opinion even extremly pretty girl in cigarette in hand or mouth losses all her beauty and it cause that I'm not interested;), but as it can be seen hardly ever man thinks in this way).
Even if you think it is stupid reason (because it is) think about it, you know young pepole, want to show how adult they are, some of them want to be like them so they copy them etc...
or in schools or offices places for smokers where you can make new friends...

But even this argument isn't convinceing for me, and never was.
... maybe that's why I'm lonely ;)

1: you're absolutely right. Prettyness and Beautyness are two different things. And it's so ugly to see, when a girl has a cigarette in her mouth. :yuk:
