Do you have music DVDs?

Post by Stratofanius » Sat Jul 23, 2005 1:19 pm

So do you have any music dvd:s? Example some live-shows, music videos etc. And did you like them?

I've got two, Stratovarius - Infinite Visions and Iron Maiden - Visions of the Beast. I don't buy them very often because they are quite expensive many times. Those two what I got were quite cheap, so that's my reason why I bought them.
Infinite Visions is good, but there is not very much "live action" and quality of sound and screen is not very good. And there should be more extras... BUT: There are some very funny parts. Jens is very, very funny guy.
Maiden's Visions of the Beast is great, but I thought that screen is widescreen (16:9), but that was only normal 4:3 size. Anyway, videos are of course very good. Some extreme awesome songs are also at "live", even songs are just studio versions which are edited to video. Holy Smoke is one of the funniest music videos ever, even the song is boring. There are some extras, but only few...

(oh, this can't be true, I didn't use any smiles! LOL)

I have Dream Theater's Live Scenes From NY and Live At Budokan, both of them are outstanding of course. Pink Floyd's Live At Pompei is great too, so is Operation : Livecrime. I plan to buy Rush In Rio and Infinite Visions soon.

I don't own really any DVD's, but if Stratovarius ever makes a new DVD, I'm going to buy it. Perhaps I'll buy Infinite Visions someday too.

Right now I have.

G3- Live in Denver (Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen, Joe Satriani)
Steve Vai- Live at The Astoria
Iron Maiden-Visions of the Beast
Pink Floyd- The Wall
Def Leppard- Historia
Hard n Heavy- (some compilation that has Steve Vai and Living Colour music videos on it)
Yngwie Malmsteen's Rising Force- Live in '85 on VHS tape. (This video also features a very young looking Mr. Jens Johansson on the keys!)

I am ordering the Stratovarius DVD this week, I had to get settled into my new place that I just moved into yesterday. I bought a shirt off of the Strato-shop a few months back. It took awhile. Hopefully the DVD will take less time to get here. Those that do have the DVD can you tell me if it is in widescreen or standard? I just bought a 52' inch widescreen HD TV. :D You haven't lived until you have seen Pink Floyd's "The Wall" on a big screen with a 6 speaker surround sound stereo system!!

I need to get the Nightwish DVD as well. I like that band A LOT!
