fear of the dark is my favourite album nothing more to say just that...
well seventh son could be to but FOTD is a good one from maiden, except the blaze albums
Ummm, we could focus the question as: what´s the most important album of Maiden of its whole career, in terms of influence and popularity? not our favourite album, I mean the most relevant lp of the band in your opinion.
SE EGOISTA Y HAZ FELIZ A LOS TUYOS SIENDO FELIZ TÚ.
The first three are most relevant i think. Killers and Iron Maiden both had huge influences on many bands, but are still different because of a certain punk element which was disbanded with Number Of The Beast though. With NotB came new elements, in means of music and image that surely had a huge influence, i think together with Mercyful Fate partially... well, all later albums were still good, but not that new, but we could perhaps add Somewhere in Time because of the excessive syntheziser use... yeah those four i think...
Anybody here thinks that this album is the most obscure maiden release?
The songs are so different, if you compare to FOTD you'll see that there's a huge difference in the songs atmosphere, like, its more dark, heavy...i love this album!
Somewhere in Time. A groundbreaking album in many ways. Looking back, it might be viewed as a bit of a risk for Maiden since their sound totally changed between Powerslave and SIT. Usually when a band changes their sound it is for the worst (see: Metallica) But this was a bold move and it helped showcase Adrian Smiths talents as a guitarist. After he left, it became evident, at least to me, that Janick Gers was not even fit to change Adrians strings. The music suffered after Seventh Son in my opinion. Not to get off track, SIT is great from start to finish.
Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son paved the way for a lot of the bands and music discussed in this forum.
