Watched hotel Rwanda the other night, sad story, but not a brilliant film.

Yesterday I watched in DVD Million Dollar Baby....
just another brilliant film of Mr. Eastwood. Not the best of his career, but this man when got old, started to do something special. I mean, when I was a teenager I started with his old films, Harry The Dirt Saga, and of course the (spaghetti) westerns. So I have a certain attitud about him... but , since his film of 1994 (in spanish was "Sin Perdón", in english would be something like "No forgiven" or so...) I discovered a different Clint Eastwood... and I am glad about it. :)

I saw "Lord of War" last weekend. Good movie. I just bought "Sin City" on DVD. That was a good movie too.

I saw corpse bride as well.
I was not amused.

Charlie and the chocolate factory.

Though I think that all Johnny Depps and Tim Burtons movies are great, 'little strange' and different from main stream - in a good way - this disappointed me a little. Those little singing umpa lumpas were just too much.. :?

But it had its good sides too. Like the main character, little pure hearted boy, and Christopher Lee as Wonkas dentist father were good ones. Of course, Depp played his part great as always.

But, hm, it was a little bit weird one. :) Little childlish too.

I hope I haven't just grown up.. :D

Burnt by the Sun ... my girlfriend has been trying to get me to watch it forever, and I finally did yesterday morning... Cool! There's this sort of timeless story (i hate the phrase "timeless story" btw!) in a very specific time period... in Russia just before WW2. Cool!

I watched "some" movies when I was in Pelkosenniemi...

Terminator (1984)

I have seen this many times before and I watched it again, because it's
Arnold Schwarzenegger's best movie for sure. Full of action, drama and right macho-feeling! Classical movie. In my opinion, best scene in whole Terminator trilogy is in this movie: Police station killing scene. Arnold is the king!
My rating: 5/5

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991)

Very, very good but not so good than first Terminator movie. Arnold has again many cool one-liners than always and he surely is the ultimate warrior :P This movie includes some VERY good scenes, but it isn't classic because young John Connor's actor is stupid.
My rating: 4/5

Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003)

Good popcorn-movie from old Arnold. Includes also some VERY good scenes as two first movies and Arnold has again some funny one-liners, but there is a little too much computer action... Still, nearly as good as Judgement Day.
My rating: 3,5/5

True Lies (1994)

Good movie, again starring with Schwarzenegger. It has some funny scenes and good action scenes + Arnold's one-liners. Still, I hate Tom Arnold and I can't stand him. Also ending of this movie is shit. So I give "just" 3 stars to this.
My rating: 3/5

Schindler's List (1993)

I couldn't even believe that Spielberg can do this kind of masterpiece in same year than legendary Jurassic Park. This is VERY GOOD MOVIE.
Liam Neeson as nazi Schindler is just amazing and movie is quite sad.
The movie is over 3 hours long, but that doesn't matter.
My rating: 5/5.

Jaws (1975)

I've seen this million time and now the time was again to see this.
This is one of the Spielberg's career's highlights with Jurassic Park and Schinderl's List. Just amazing movie of killer shark which kills movie in small town called Amity. The last half of the movie is just legendary and Quint's sad story of ship Indianapolis is VERY interesting. The shark isn't very good-looking, but still ok and in some scenes it's actually looks real.
Shame that this classic has those three VERY VERY VERY BAD sequels.
My rating: 5/5

(this topic was hidden on page four, I thought I bring it back *g*)

Seen "15 minutes" yesterday. A famous cop who is always in the media is hunting two brutal gangster. Those crazy guys are filming their attacks cuz they want to become famous and make money.
Interesting film, which tries to criticize the media.

The premier will be on the day, when I see Stratovarius and Hammerfall. But I don't have to see it exactly on the premierday. :)

The premier here will be on Thursday, but I'm not willing to go...
All the cinemas are going to be full of little kids.
A good idea would be watching the Constant Gardener.

You are so primitive these days, Pete!

Anyway, though Emma is still a Teenager, she is a really beautiful girl. Absolutely the kind of girl/woman (at least concerning outer appearance) I easily fall in love with. :P

I've just watched "Gangs of New York". An interesting movie about riots in New York during the days of the Civil War. Scorsese created a very dense atmosphere, and Danny Day-Lewis is great as Butcher Bill.
I don't like DiCaprios performance very much, but anyway I think that his abilities as an actor are overrated as he has limited expression abilites.
The movie is also too long, and I still wonder what Scorsese wants to tell us with it. I don't see any meaning in it, except learning something about a dark chapter of history. And - revenge. But there are way too much films about revenge.
So in the end: Interesting to watch, but no top movie.

To be even more primitive, I change the title of that film: "Gang Bangs of New York".
