New metal or nu metal, that is the question. So I will start it off with clear examples of what I can't stand.

Korn, sucks serious donkey balls
Slipknot, gay gay gay
Mudvayne, the motherfucker whore a fucking superman cape. GAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Emo dick sucking core, hard fisting themselves core, Noise what the fuck is the bullshit core all sucks seroiusly. Especially that 30 Seconds To Mars shit. I pissed myself laughing when I heard them. I swore I heard a seal dying when the guy attempted to sing. It provides more proof that actors should be banned from forming bands.

Now if we are talking new bands that are actually metal, this is almost non existent. Unless we are talking in the European sense, which is always sweet music to my ears. But I am also happy to see the American Thrash bands return with ass kicking albums to show these nu metal dick sucking upstarts how it is really done.

Dude, you should seriously think about getting a life ... Then your problems with nu-metal will seem small and irrelevant in comparison to real life's problems ...

Real life? Dude, you need to get a sense of humor. Once you reach a certain age, real life problems don't seem like problems at all. Just things that happen and you move on. Not something that bares repeating time and time again when they rear their ugly head again.

Nu Metal is no different than the emo and screamo thats out. It is all GAY, dork/geek rock. Is there much of a differene between emo and screamo? I guess Screamo is what they do when they mount each other. Both are extremely GAY.

@strago, Joey is far more talented than any of this new shit. And at least he doesn't shop at hot topic and hang out at the mall.

It is kind of amazing that you would be a fan of Stratovarius and completely void of liking a band like Manowar.

Manowar have some good songs, mainly from before the "Fighting The World" album but the amount of cheesiness in their music really puts me off ...

TrialByFire, let's compare this - worrying about finishing university with good grades or nu-metal, looking for a good job or nu-metal, having problems in family or nu-metal, having financial problems or nu-metal ... Lets trade - you get all of my problems and I'll just get your problem with nu-metal ...

Anyways, as it seems that I'm the only one here that has a combined music taste of "classic" metal and new metal, I put some questions:
Why are some many of you talking about new metal to be "gay"? That's so childish, men...
What does define music, and why should new metal not be music if metal is?
And, what I'm wondering about every time I follow such a discussion: Why are "true" metal heads so emotional and violent if someone's talking about new metal?

However, now I'll go on an listen to "As I Lay Dying"'s ass-kicking "Repeating Yesterday".

then I was too lazy to look for them. 8) But yeah, I agree, early KoRn stuff is really good, and I really love System Of A Down. My absolutely favourite band in that direction is Deftones, and I just discovered a band called "As I Lay Dying". Really ass-kicking, those guys.
One month left, then starts one of the greates tours ever - the Taste Of Chaos-tour!!! Check out www.tasteofchaos.com , really great line up, ridiculous prizes, and first they gonna play almost every where in the states, and then heading for Europe. So maybe I can go there twice. :D

I'm with Shurik on this one.

Slipknot's first album is brilliant musically, same with the early Korn, SOAD and Static-X stuff. And 30 Seconds To Mars first album is one of my fav albums to skate to so no dissin'! :P

I'm also not a big fan of Manowar, they are the cheese of cheeses.

I would love to know when all of a sudden making fun of something was an implication of worry.

There is a big problem in music now when mediocrity is now being called brilliant. Taking people who write the worst lyrics I have seen in a long time (not to mention they always look like they have no clue as to what they are singing about), tying it up with some of the most disorganized ideas. As always there a very few exceptions. Static X being the only one I have seen mentioned on here as an example. Then again, gotta love a guy who uses more hair spray then most glam bands do in one day.lol

Actually, Rhapsody write the worst and the most ridiculous lyrics ever ... "Sword of heroes, bal-bla-bla, prince of steel, holy magic, bla-bla-bla" ...

yeah, and then what's the definition of mediocrity!? Aren't todays metal bands mediocre compared to the "old ones"? All these discussions are so subjective that one cannot say "Uh, new metal sucks because it's not music" or stuff like that. It's all personal opinions.

What I agree on is that very often a trend is started by a few good and original bands, that is followed by countless imitators, the most of them are far away from being innovative. But that's not the problem of a special genre, that's how business works today.

I admit I listen to Limp Bizkit sometimes when I am training with weights, or when I am pissed off, that is, angry about something, or when getting drunk and letting out some steam.

I was impressed by their early albums "significant other,(1999)" and "chocolate starfish and the hot dog flavoured water,(2000)", not because I thought the songs were so special or anything, but because of the energy and high testosterone levels of those albums.

Hey, you didn't list their first album, "Three doller bill", which was their only really good one! "Significant Other" was also not bad, but IMO already with "Chocolate starfish" they absolutely got boring and commercial.
