Any fans of Nevermore in here? I've got four albums of theirs,
Dreaming Neon Black,
Dead Heart in a Dead World,
Enemies of Reality and their latest
This Godless Endeavor. I must say they're remarkably consistent in producing great albums.
Endeavor in particular is most excellent. I'd be hard pressed to put them in genre, other than to say they're rather heavy
Plenty of heavy riffing, as well as very technical and complex patterns at times. Almost always very dark stuff. I'm sure there's some sound samples on their website,

Oh, and they're from Seattle, so between Nevermore and Queensrÿche, that almost makes up for the entire Grunge scene
