The Man with the Golden Gun
Roger Moore is perhaps the best Bond, he brought so much humour to these films.

Re: Recently seen movies
My Fav Bond Movie was Goldeneye. Pierce did a pretty good job in that movie portraying 007&Natalya was the most intelligent, and gorgeous Bond girl. I was hoping she would be the one to tame him!
But, this new guy as Bond I don't know about him!

Re: Recently seen movies
Sean Connery's Bonds are of course the best ones, especially From Russia with Love, Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice. And Connery is the MAN, you can't find better actor for that role. He is a legend.
However, that film with George Lazenby was bad, but Roger Moore was quite good and I love his first bond film, Live and Let Die. Though Moore has some very boring Bond films, I like most of those movies...
Timothy Dalton wasn't bad, but I haven't really watched much those two films where he was. Pierce Brosnan was great and GoldenEye & Tomorrow Never Die were cool movies, but two latest movies were not so great.
I hope that the next Bond movie with different actor could be better, though it's shame that we can't see Brosnan anymore.

Clerks 2
Insanely funny movie, I don't remember myself laughing like that in along time ...
Kingdom Of Heaven, Director's Cut
Another Hollywood epic with CGIed battles, this time about Saladin's conquest of Jerusalem. Of course, like every other Hollywood epic, the story has little to do with actual history ... Another thing - this move costs 130 million dollars and the production team couldn't even buy a cheap map of general area of Jerusalem. The real Jerusalem lies on several hills and there are no plains near the city and especially near the Old City, but in the movie we see big plain near the city walls where Saladin's army attacks the city ...
Ah, Hollywood and history, geography, physics, chemistry are not big friends ...

The Dead Zone
Best Stephen King's adaptation ever ...
Videodrome
It's not the first time I see this movie and it's still weird and fucked-up as it was the first time I've seen it. Definitely one of the weirdest movies ever made ...

Re: Recently seen movies
@htcdude, did you understand The Ninth Gate? Was the girl Satan, or a Messenger? Lots of movies show Satan as a female---I guess the Devil can take any form it wants! The Johnny Depp character sold his soul to the Devil, Right? When they made love. She had that look of triumph that said, "Haha, I gotcha, bro!" At the end he was going to the Castle to call up the girl again, I assume!htcdude wrote:Yesterday watched The Ninth Gate (bit too Satanic for me!)

Yes, cast Away is a good movie but i have sw it about 10 times on TV. That guy went through Hell. But, was a very strong person. I was sad though about his wife. She still loved him, though.
A good movie I can recommend to anyone, whether you are Christian or not is APOCALYPSE. A movie about the aged Apostle John when he was on the island of Patmos in exile&wrote the book of Revelation. Good special effects&it follows the Bible account very closely. The moral is: "God is love&all who love has God within them." Some of the people who acted in Passion of the Christ was in this movie. The guards, the man(actor) who pierced the side of christ&the chief of guards played in this movie, too. It ws made in Italy. Richard Harris played John. This movie shows the persecution&slaughter early Christians suffered at the hands of the Romans. Christians had to meet in secret to worship God.

Just saw S.W.A.T. Another crappy, masculine action flick. One of the guys was teaching kids raiding tactics with waterpistols in a birtday party. Only Top Gun tops this one. Can't really recommend this to anybody.

Re: Recently seen movies
Last weekend (yeah, it was an exciting one ) I watched:
Kill Bill vol. 1
Tarantino is God.
10/10
Kill Bill vol. 2
Tarantino is God.
10/10
Reservoir Dogs
Tarantino is God.
10/10
Pulp Fiction
Tarantino is more than God.
11/10
Scarface
I worship this movie. Al Pacino makes my all-time favourite performance as Tony Montana. And then there are all those classic oneliners lie: "Say hello to my little friend"
10/10
Road To Perdition
I like all mafia-movies and I liked this one too.
8/10
Die Hard
One of the greatest action movies ever. I like all movies with Bruce Willis, even though he plays the same character in all of them.
8/10
Robocop
I like Paul Verhoeven's movies, but this isn't his greatest.
6/10
Wax Mask
An Italian horror-movie with Dario Argento (director of Suspiria, Phenomena etc.) as the writer. Not a good one, but easily beats 9 out 10 of any american horror-movies.
6/10
Predator
Nothing interesting, but Arnold Sckwvhartszhenegger is The Man.
6/10
Predator 2
Quite bad and looks really cheap. And where's Arnie?
4/10
S.W.A.T.
As Carcass put it, just another bad action movie.
5/10

I'm a Robocop freak by the way.
I saw The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning over the weekend. I liked it more than the "first" one. This one, I think was more bloody and fast-paced.
I give it a 7/10 compared to the "first" one.

I like ROBOCOP III the best. It ws made by the guy who made STARSHIP TROOPERS--it even had the same backgrond music!
A good comedy I saw last night is SOUL PLANE. Lots of racial stereotypes&slapstick comedy.
Tom Arnold: Good God, that thing has a face on it!
His hot wife: Not now, but its gonna!

Predator isn't that bad. It's laughable, it smells of testosterone and has some really corny one-liners... but what the hell, it's entertaining. Re: Recently seen movies
Well at least I agree that the character of Bennet (Vernon Wells) is absolutely ultra-gay in Commando But I don't care and even his dialogs are ridiculous.
Re: Recently seen movies
The final fight between Arnold and Bennet is an allegory of violent gay sex. Have you noticed how he comes at the end? This film is pretty good too. Or fun, should I say...

I thought TRUE LIES was a funny Arnold movie! Especially Jamie Lee Curtis&Bill Paxton.
COMMANDO a "gay" film? WTF? Did I miss something, or did I just watch it from a female perspective? I thought it was a pretty good movie! However, I did think it weird when the Vernon Wells character told Arnold that he ws going to shoot him in a very delicate area.

That's CLASSIC one-liner! Arnold rules all the way!NeonVomit wrote:"Please don't disturb my friend. He's dead tired."
I love this dialog so much... whole fucking movies rules!"We'll take Cooke's car. He won't be needing it."
But here's the greatest line:
Cindy:
Who the hell are you, huh?
You steal my car,
rip the seat out, kidnap me,
you ask me to help find your
then you get me in a shoot-out
where people are dying.
You rip a phone booth
out of the wall,
swing from
the ceiling like Tarzan,
then a cop's going to shoot you,
and I save you,
and he starts chasing me!
Are you going to tell me
what's going on or what?!
Matrix:
No.
Re: Recently seen movies
I think it's the first time I hear someone telling it's a good movie!browneyedgirl wrote:I like ROBOCOP III the best.
Everyone says it sucks (probably because they have kept that first Robocop movie in mind, with its extra violence scenes), but it has really good things.
Just like the Robocop TV serie (which is great!), they are both focused on the "human" aspect of Robocop.
I saw Commando (it is the one starring Alysa Milano ?) but it was a long time ago. I should definitely watch it again! Old Schwarzy movies are like most of the JC Vandamme movies : CULT!
