Also BEG what's Hungary like? Worth a holiday?

That's probably the last place to go for 'somewhere not too expensive' :D Oslo is one of the most expensive cities in the world, and the cost of well, everything in Norway is astronomical.

I'd suggest Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria or Czech Republic for somewhere cool and not too pricey. Italy as well.

All the Nordic countries are quite expensive but I'd say Norway, Iceland and Denmark are in a different league than Finland and Sweden. 9 € for a pint is insane.

Barcelona is awesome, I've been there three times. Check out Click Air for cheap tickets to Spain.

Compared to UK almost every place is cheap, so don't worry.

 ???

I'm from USA, dude! :) And, since I am on a diet, Hungry is not good! :D

Seriously, I think Beast_Pete is the one to ask. :)

You could always come to Bush-country, dude, but it takes quite a bit of green to make the scene. You might come&stay in the Paris Hilton mansion---I hear she is strapped for cash right now&would probably rent it to ya! ;) Great private spa, and I'd advise to bring a bottle of Lysol. ;) After all, Fred, Tommy&Ozzy, Jr. paid her a visit. :D

Oh well getting to Norway from UK shouldn't be that expensive really. Return flight to Helsinki from Heathrow set me back about £100-odd, Oslo is much closer so it should be a lot cheaper.

And yeah, it's a lovely place as long as your wallet can sustain it :D

When you search for the air tickets a bit in advance and if you don't need first class tickets  , you'll find not so expensive tickets around practically whole Europe .
I would rather choose the place where I want to go first and then try to find the tickets...as cheap as possible of course :)

Dude, I aint been to many places in Europe, though of the two I have been other than home, Cyprus and Holland are both on the dirge's recommendation lists! Granted, I wasn't in amsterdam for the sights! Though from what I remember, it was lovely. Cyprus (I think they are in the EU now) I have been to 6 times now, beautiful country, very friendly out there and some lovely grub! :D

Yes, we're in the EU, it is lovely here and the weather is nice. Plus food is cheap and extremely good.

Something to bear in mind, but you have to book well in advance because flights get crazy busy.
