Insanity

Post by Suomalais-Saamelaine » Sat Mar 14, 2009 8:19 pm

WARNING: SERIOUS BUSINESS BELOW!

Being here a while, lurking, I find the lack of interesting and original threads disturbing, therefore, I will make one.

so hay, Insanity.
Insanity isn't much alike with what Media and other promotors like to show. Neither is it people who like to put a book on their head and play the violin with their tongues waiving around or go all "soy loco :D"; that's just wierd people. Insanity is more phsycological(?), which may be hearing voices, feel careless about various things, and lack of empathy. Insanity is also asocial behavior, avoiding people and such. Now, I did just mention a few things, but you get the idea.

Insane persons may be psychopaths, sociopaths and shizophrens. Mainly, if not only, people with personality disorders.

Now, I did write this quite lazily and without real or proper references. So, I ask you guys: Do you have any experiences with insanity? What do you think about insanity? Information would be appreciated.

Also, inb4 troll(s), "hurr gtfo psychopaths", flame section, fifty hitler posts, an hero, do a barrel roll etc. etc.

Phycology (from Greek φύκος, phykos, "seaweed"; and -λογία, -logia) or algology (from Latin alga, also "seaweed"), a subdiscipline of botany, is the scientific study of algae.

OK.

No, I don't have any personal experience of insanity. But I do know people who have.

EDIT: Or maybe I do have, hard to draw the line. Your definition of insanity is quite open.

That's weak, man. Regarding that this is a srs bzns thread, you'll have to write a shitlong post to start with.

Also, tell more about this person.

Nah, I don't write essay posts. To me this place is more for killing time than anything else. But anyway...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I don't have any personal experience of insanity. But I know someone who is "Insane" after your definition.

Somebody had to do it. :P

Seriously though, I know one person who takes anti-depressants and a few more who should be taking them. That's about it.

I would say that's depression, not insanity. But, let's say that's insanity.

Also, if you got anything related to insanity, it's fine. This thread is all about that.

Someone very close to me is on anti-depressants, and was on Xanax for a while as well for clinical depression. They have actually experienced stigmatisation for this issue, being left by a former partner for it. Quite sad, really.

Let's keep it to ourselves and members of the forum. Others using anti-depressants are most likely none of our business

Yes, which is why I carefully avoided using a gender when talking about this person :P

That's boring! :)

A close friend of mine is having really difficult panic attacks after he/she discovered his/her father is living a double life (a gay one; and he/she is the only one who knows about it) and taking drugs. And now their whole family is apparently in a very difficult fiscal position, they will probably have to sell their flat. Also, his/her grandmother died recently.

Damn sexist English, in Finnish we just have hän for both sexes.

In order to get the smiley (:P), it has to be a capitol p. Just forget about it, I'm completely wasted at the moment. :D

I wrote it with a capital P to start with.

You are clearly insane.

Insanity was once defined as doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results!

Come on. Being drunk wasn't included in OP's definition of insanity. That would make us all insane, now wouldn't it?
