Brazil. Because Venezuela didn't qualify either, despite not having other jobs (they were too busy trying to get the electricity working again.)

Aaaaaanyway....

England are looking terrible. The performance against Japan was horrific.

Germany lost yet another player to injury.

Mexico need to tidy up at the back.

Maradona is still insane.

12 days to go!!!!

Oh man, that's gonna suck; now the german defense's weak. First Ballack, then Rolfes, Adler, Traesch and now Westermann. Germany isn't lucky enough, and only 12 days left :?

Don't forget Encke at the start of this year.

Indeed, Germany seems to have been cursed...

I don't know... Portugal have a lot of talent, but their displays lately have been less than convincing so I don't think Brazil will have much trouble with them. Brazil - Ivory Coast will be very interesting, as IC will basically have the home advantage. I'm looking forward to Greece - Argentina for comedy value more than anything. And I'm dreaming of a North Korea - South Korea matchup, but that seems pretty unlikely.

They have a few world-class players, but I don't see them making much of an impact. I would've preferred Sweden to be there.

+1 :D . The only team I'm afarid of is Nigeria; Maradona is pretty confident that it would be an easy match, and that our group isn't hard enough. If we are lucky, we would the the 2nd in our group: Greece is an unknown team and it may be the revelation of this group, but I don't see any chance on them; North Korea...No offence, but their team is a joke!

I wouldn't say Greece is unknown; they won the 2004 European Championship by beating then champions France, hosts Portugal twice (the legendary team that had Luis Figo and Nuno Gomes) and favourites Czech Republic. Their form since hasn't been exactly convincing, but they're certainly not a team to be underestimated.

I was just quoting that in group B they have few chances to win. I'm not denying they are a great team, in fact I remember that match against France back at 2004, and I was stunned about their performance. But I see them as the "black horses" of the group: They did it at the European Cup and their are now at the World Cup coming from the most complicated confederation, so it would come as a total surprise for argentinians and nigerians if they do win...Chances are low, but one never knows

Yeah, they're dark horses for sure. They're the polar opposite of Argentina: not very many talented players but an outstanding coach, so it will be interesting to watch...

It is really depressing to see how useless Maradona is as a manager. Borderline comical. I am afraid Argentina will get nowhere with him at the helm despite the ridiculous amount of talent in their ranks.

Like NV said, the polar opposites to Greece. Decent players at best but a good - even though sometimes stubborn - manager at the helm in Rehaggel.

Nigeria is surely going to be strong and physical, likewise is S.Korea with a very strong work rate and team ethic.

In theory it should be a cakewalk for Argentina to qualify but with Maradona at the helm no one is safe :-)

I'm 70% sure we'll come in second place, 20% we'll come first, and 10% we won't even qualify. In fact, if we do qualify, I see it hard for us to advance onto the quarter finals :?

So England's captain Rio Ferdinand has been injured in training and will not play in the tournament. He's had a pretty mediocre season in any case. Steven Gerrard takes over the captain's job, and I think he's better suited to it anyhow.

Didier Drogba has injured his arm and might miss the tournament. Not only is he one of the best players in the world, but as Africa's most prominent star it would be a big blow for the tournament were he not to play. And with the group they're in, Ivory Coast will need all the help they can get. Michael Essien isn't going to be there either. Add that to Ballack's injury, David Beckham missing out, Ronaldinho not being taken for Brazil (despite featuring in that 3-minute long Nike advert), a lot of big names are potentially missing... oh boy.

I think that Dunga did the best choice... Ronaldinho never play good games in Brazil selection's team... He's kind of a player that when you need most, he's not even in the game... Good work Dunga... Run for Hexa!!!
