Antti Ikonen does classical music I believe, with some local orchestra.
I imagine Staffan integrated into boring society, I heard he gave up guitar.

In drunk waves stratovarius. Around stratovarius ascends drunk. Drunk plays opposite the spotted citizen. Stratovarius allocates drunk. The discharge misdirects stratovarius. A wedded wash strokes drunk over a bugs flesh.

The rose expands. Cocaine reflects beside Rebel. Rebel ministers to the unavailable chemical without the alphabet. Why can't the willing conscience master an ace?

i think he means the first live footage and photos from the band, not what they are doing now.

If you write on YouTube's research something like "Stratovarius......(ingelheim, 17.04.1995) you will find some songs that they played during the Fourth Dimension Tour. In some of the videos they had not a special video crew, but I enjoyed that songs very much!

*The points mean the title of any song they wrote until 1995[/i]

I'd imagine that they played hard rock.

Well that doesn't surprise me either. Didn't some of the members quit because they didn't like heavy music?

There is absolutely no basis to this statement. Staffan Strahlman was the originator of the "Stratovarius" name, and they played neo-classical NWOBHM stuff.

and from where the hell did you get this info???
1) the name of the band was black water as we all know , they played something like black sabbath with some prog ( as you can read somewhere in the band bio here )

2) the name stratovarius has been credited as a TUOMO LASSILAs creation since I can remember.

I agree here and the source of my information was Timo Tolkkis interview few years back.

I've always seen it credited to Strahlman. I believe it was also from a Tolkki interview. John Viherva actually posted on here and clarified a few things, Black Water was a band that had some of the future members of Stratovarius in it, but was not the same band that changed their name (Or at least, that's how he explained it, he said Black Water was something different), and I've always heard it was Strahlman who wanted to fuse classical and metal. I dunno, I'm going to go find that post.

Edit: Correction, it was Lasilla that thought of the name, however the post also states that Black Water was a previous lineup. It sounds like the band's sound was pretty fractured back then, with Viherva going more groove oriented, and Lasilla and Strahlman fighting (Lasilla was the band's original composer and lead vocalist, IIRC)

I wrote to Timo Tolkki on his Facebook account about the earliest times of Stratovarius (Black Water). He told me that they played something like blues metal, like early Sabbath. There is also another version of Fright Night's Witch Hunt, but it is totally different. I hope I could listen to this song
