Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
This album is head and shoulders better than anything Cain's Offering has released shy of Reckoning Night.
Better than Ecliptica, better than Silence, better than Winterheart's Guild, Unia, obviously the rest.
Might be one of Timo Kotipelto's best vocal performances ever.
Review will be up in a few days. WOW.

This is a thinly veiled attempt to boast about getting a pre-release copy of the record.Rebel wrote:This album is head and shoulders better than anything Cain's Offering has released shy of Reckoning Night.

They keep getting better. It's never enough for them. It's been years since I started following them and they still produce every time.

A most excellent song!

That harpsichord! <3
The high note TK hits around 5:36 reminds me of the good old Visions-era!

Even Winterheart's Guild...? that's bold. I'll have to give it a listen.Rebel wrote:This album is head and shoulders better than anything Cain's Offering has released shy of Reckoning Night.

I've been getting prerelease copies for like 4 years. I'm past bragging about it, I just want to get people excited about it.AAAAAAAAAA wrote:This is a thinly veiled attempt to boast about getting a pre-release copy of the record.Rebel wrote:This album is head and shoulders better than anything Cain's Offering has released shy of Reckoning Night.

It would really be amazing if some of the songs could be performed live. Not by just the duo, but with a full band.

Did we get any news that they'll be playing shows?
Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
Seriously, this album seems is gonna be absolutely amazing. The first single is pure MAGIC!
...Faster than light, higher than the sky, stronger than steel...We´re the legions of the Twilight...

I received the Japanese version in the mail yesterday and it's total killer from start to finish.
All songs are very strong, even the Japan only bonus track is outstanding.
Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
Just heard the album as well. It's great!
I especially love the ballad Too Tired To Run. It builds up steadily and then that last chorus is just magnificent.
Don't think there is a bad song/filler on here. What an album.

Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
Blast my cock off! Good album.
Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
I really hope TK's vocal production on the next Stratovarius album will be like on Stormcrow. He sounds so natural and relaxed here compared to Nemesis. Stormcrow gives me pre-2007 Timo vibes!
Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
Just pure magic for my ears... Magnificent album!
Re: Jani Liimatainen - Next Cain's Offering Album
This is a quite quite good album. I really like it. TK shines, Jens shines and the few guitars we can listen shines too. Too much symphonic sometimes, but its ok, I understand the approach and it can't be other way.
I like a lot I will buy you a Rome, On the shore and Antemortem. It is just my first listen, but the best songs for me and the ones I know will grow on me a lot are On the shore and Antemortem.

Alright, time to download (cause Finnish metal albums take like 3 months to reach CD stores in México) and see how well the album is really composed and paced. I hope it's not like 10 ultra fast-loud tracks and a quiet ending... I hope it's well balanced, but we'll see! I'll be back after a couple days/listens

Here you're if you want to have a 1st listen. It's a fantastic album... I really have enjoyed a lot this album in all the ways.

The main point of this album is that Kotipelto shines a lot. The second main point is that Jens nails it, what a solos and a melodies!!
Anyway, buy it, it's a jewell that all melodic metal fans should have in their desks. It's a super balanced album, solid and very straight forward. It's what Sonata Arctica should have evolved; Liimatainen deserves a tour to show his music, at least a Finland Tour!
My three favourites are Constellation of Tears, Antemortem and My Heart Beats for No One.
