Sometimes cats just leave. One time it was snowing outside and a cat sat in front of our door. Of course we let him in. We fed him and once the snow cleared we let him out. He stuck around, though. He'd wait at the door when we came back from school. As soon as we "adopted" him after a few days he left, never to be seen again.
Seems like the cats were ok. I just seen most of them last night. I just panic too often. They’ll always be cats around, that’s for sure!! None of these cats were bought. All strays!!
They do go to the vet when they need too. Bruno the grey one from above has something wrong with his eye now. But we just got one of the cats fixed so we are on kind of a tight budget.
He seems to be ok, just maybe got dirt in it.
I never had cats as a kid. I knew some friends that hated them though. Even some psychos from school who would hurt cats and brag about it. Always some assholes I got to deal with.
No pets in my house, but I had a dog during most of my childhood. So it's been 10 years without any, and I've been thinking about getting either a cat (or two) or a dog. My schedules vary heavily so that in mind perhaps a cat as more independent pet would be better. Getting someone to help me out while I'm away, is not a problem. There's this place not too far away with cats that need home, so I would get cats from that place. But yeah not hurrying with these plans for now.

Nothing better than snuggling up in the winter under a blanket or near a fireplace with a purring cat.
Dogs do need more attention. But I would say cats look for attention too. If you are away for days and days, a dog would probably be a nervous wreck seeing you gone.
