well obama did a nice speech yesterday, and the line that i loved the most is "we got to meet this challenges together" or something like that, i think USA needs that from their president, we knows the situation and wants all the americans to unite.

being venezuela a country as divided and torn for politics, i can only dream about chavez saying that...and I hope that USA doesnt get there.

A lot of Americans actually agree with you on that, but sadly, many of them think that Obama is just like Chavez. Maybe they need more Venezuelans like you to educate them on the differences.

my god, is that true!?, they cant be more unlikely...
first off, chavez is a soldier, and thinks like a soldier, his vocabulary limits to "enemy" "target" "mission" ...an so on.
then he found a way to make himself re-electable and right now he is going for his fourth presidential period of 6 years, in total, 20 years.
and as a plus he divided the country in two partys "chavistas" chavez lovers and "oposicion" the democrats hahahaha. there were many and still exist political parties but almost powerless . just a pantomime.

there are many other facts that set them apart but the list its so fuckin long, there are also many things one can critize about USA but their democratic tradition is almost an institution of what democracy should be like , and as far i understand, this dates to the days of george washington, so fuck the obama haters.

It's true, Adrian. A lot of the right-wing talk radio hosts in the U.S. try to say that Obama is a Commuist and aspires to be just like Chavez. Apparently a President who feels that all Americans should have equal opportunities, and not just the rich, white, and privileged...well, they must be a communist or socialist!

If I had the money to fly you out here to educate the people, I would. Well, and we could hang out and watch Strato DVDs at my house in-between your public speaking engagements.

Eric Dondero Rittberg

Good Morning. I rarely post here at Facebook. It's so goddamned slow, and always freezes up my computer (did again this morning). Facebook sucks!

That said, I am devastated by the news of Obama's reelection last night. It is the worst thing to ever happen to me in my entire life. I have never been so severely depressed. But at the same time, never have I felt such sheer and utter disgust for my fellow Americans.

Looks like I have 170 Facebook "Friends," for whatever that's worth. To those of you who voted for Obama:

Do not ever communicate with me in any way, for any reason whatsoever ever again, so long as we may live.

YOU ARE DEAD TO ME.

I spit in your face. You are nothing short of a Nazi, Communist America-hating, enemy of liberty.

Do not Facebook me, call me, and you better not pollute my personal email account.

If you see me on the street somewhere's, say Philly, Wilmington, DE, somewhere in Florida, Houston, Dallas, Austin, Phoenix, San Diego, wherever, do not approach me. If I see you do this I will spit on the ground where you walk. Then, I'll turn and walk the other way.

For those of you who are Republicans and voted for Mitt Romney last night, thank you. I still want you as a friend. However, if you have a family gathering or social event, and plan to invite any Democrats, do not invite me. And please do not try to trick me. If a Democrat shows up, even by mistake, I will leave immediately, and never speak to you or yours again for the rest of my life.

I will not even attend any funerals for anyone I know who is a Democrat, and that includes family members. Be hereby forewarned.

Ron Paul: Election shows U.S. 'far gone'

Rep. Ron Paul, whose maverick presidential bids shook the GOP, said in the wake of this week's elections that the country has already veered over the fiscal cliff and he sees no chance of righting ship in a country where too many people are dependent on government.

"We're so far gone. We're over the cliff," the Texas Republican told Bloomberg Television's "In the Loop" program. "We cannot get enough people in Congress in the next 5-10 years who will do wise things." The video can be seen at http://www.bloomberg.com/video/ron-paul ... Tvxkw.html.

Mr. Paul, who is retiring after 12 terms in the House, said voters on Tuesday rejected Mitt Romney because he had opposed the government bailout of General Motors and Chrysler.

"The people in the Midwest voted against him: 'Oh, we have to be taken care of!' So that vote was sort of like what we are laughing at in Greece," Mr. Paul said.

"People do not want anything cut," he said. "They want all the bailouts to come. They want the Fed to keep printing the money. And they don't believe that we've gone off the cliff or are close to going off the cliff. They think we can patch it over, that we can somehow come up with some magic solution. But you can't have a budgetary solution if you don't change what the role of government should be. As long as you think we have to police the world and run this welfare state, all we are going to argue about is who will get the loot."

Politics here are so boring. I think it's mostly because British people are incapable of taking themselves too seriously and can't get all melodramatic like Americans. Eric Rittberg could not exist here.

I think Rand Paul(Ron Paul's son) is planning to get into the act next time around, in 2016.

Talk about a drama queen. Grow up, guy. You can't always get your own way.

I have lots of friends from both sides of the political spectrum, and my conservative friends have not threatened to sever our friendship because I walk a different path than they do. Nor do I think less of them because I disagree with their political views.

A good portion of my Mother's family is Republican, and while my Dad's family is largely Democrats, they are conservative-leaning in some ways so it's actually better to leave politics at the door whenever the family social events arise. There are so many other subjects to talk about usually politics is the ignored "elephant in the room", so to speak. :)

My aunt's (who lives in Maryland) mother in law told her over the phone that she voted for Romney because she hates Mexicans. Thanksgiving will be pleasant as usual.

Mexicans hate her too. Pass the turkey.
