CONFESSOR, the last book in the Sword of Truth series.
Man, its good that the TV show is not exactly like the books because these books are really gory/blood&guts! They are interesting reading, though. The Imperial Order(the evil army)resembles the Nazis, and Richards speeches thoughout are quite profound. However, I cannot figure out if author Terry Goodkind is a Liberal or Conservative because his writings clearly voice both ideas at the same time, if that makes sense.
"People have free will. Its your life. Your own. So go out and live it. If you make mistakes, they are yours to own, and correct. However, even given free will noone has the right to take anothers free will, or happiness by harming them. If you choose to harm another, you must pay the consequences of your actions and sometimes that payment is quite severe, even through loss of your own freedom or life."
Such is the philosophy that is preached in these books.
