he has a voice that you don't like at most but that does not make him a bad singer. showing his stuff do vocal teachers does that get the adverse reaction that you show and i think vocal teachers know a little more about what they are talking about.

Somehow I really doubt that. Has anyone here ever shown Kai's stuff to a vocal teacher? Everything including the Helloween EP and Walls of Jericho?

everything? no. some? yes. i'm not saying the stuff was praised as the ideal form, but it certainly was not "the worst ever".

How can someone say that Kai's singing is good? I don't get it.

when it's on pitch and he hits notes from multiple octives. can it really be called bad singing to hold notes on pitch?

I find it hard to understand why anyone would hate his voice.
Technically he is fine (well, at least on Gamma Ray albums) and he has very distinctive voice, which is something I always value.
I like his voice a lot more than Ralf Scheepers' who, in my opinion, tries too hard to sound like Rob Halford.

Ralf Scheepers' voice sounds like Rob Halford's.
Gamma Ray's music on the last albums sounds like Judas Priest's.

Ralf Scheepers + actual Gamma Ray = Judas Priest  :D

Ralf Scheepers is a 100 times better then Kai Hansen will ever be. Kai made a big mistake when he let Scheepers go in 1994.

So "distinctive" is another synonym for "sounds like shit"? Seriously, how can anyone like this shitty voice? He ruins every song he sings! The I Want Out cover made by HammerFall for example. Would've been a great cover if it wasn't for Hansen to sing on it! Why can't that guy just focus on guitar and stop singing like Tolkki did? Why can't he just get a new singer? There are a shitload of singer out there who are a thousand times better then he his. The former Domain singer Carsten Schulz or the Twilightning singer Heikki Pöyhiä? Why doesn't he get one of those? Then the Gamma Ray Albums would be listenable again.

I like his voice and I'm not the only one... It's just a matter of tastes.

I like Kai's voice and I've said it before, however ragehead doesn't have to like it, he's got a different taste and there is nothing wrong with that.

Sascha said on his My Space a couple months ago that they are taking the rest of the year off  :x I also heard Andi will work on another solo album - which I really really hope is true. But who knows.

BTW, did you guys like the winner for the 25th anniversary T-shirt contest? I thought there were better ones - not saying it because the design me & my brother sent didn't win :P - I think we came in 6th or something, but I don't think the winner was that cool.

Yea, just different points of view. We are not gonna convince him that Kai is not that bad. But then again, some people like Blaze Bayley... I don't get that... :D

I hope not. I think Andi's solo stuff is really lame.

What? I just would like to see a new Helloween record instead of a Andi Deris solo record. I like the stuff he wrote for Helloween, apart from 1 song, and I like Pink Cream 69 but his solo stuff not so much.

:o !!!!

Well it's of course different from Helloween. What would be the point of making a solo record if it's gonna sound exactly like your band? I love both albums, especially Done By Mirrors - not metal but good stuff and he sings awesome on that one.

I didn't like it at all. Some Ideas are genious and others are just cursed to fail. Bassinvaders is the 2nd. But I like Shock Machine.

Iron Savior rulez. Mainly because of the fact that Kai isn't singing on the albums apart from a few tracks! No, jokes aside, Iron Savior is great. I love the voice of the singer/Guitarist and they're overall a truly great and very underrated band. But I have to say I like the albms that have Hansen on Guitar better than the later ones.

Yes the 3 first albums are great but after Kai's departure, the band records an album which sounds like the previous one, etc etc

I'm not saying that the albums without Kai are worse. I just like the ones with Kai more. The other ones are also awesome.
