"Breaking my wrist". Man! Translators sucks :D!

Anyway, back on topic: As we are at the semi-finals, how do you think the positions will be at the end of this WC? I mean, which team do you think will be the champion, 2nd place, 3rd and 4th?

Paul the psychic octopus predicts Spain will win tomorrow.
The two-year-old cephalopod has become a national celebrity.
There's a line I never thought I'd ever read. Mind you, he's been pretty damn accurate so far, much more than most football writers.

The BBC should sign the octopus to write its weekly football column instead of Mark Lawrenson. It couldn't possibly do worse.

...that's so clever I'm putting it on Facebook.

My tenuous guess at the final rankings:
1: Spain
2: Holland
3: Germany
4: Uruguay.

I probably got that all wrong but whatever. No-one can predict anything in this WC! Except the octopus.

The list I made should be clear:D I don't think Uruguay can overcome Holland, not without their best striker and possibly two of their key defenders missing.

But then again, anything can happen... no one expected Switzerland to beat Spain or Serbia to beat Germany...

You are right; well, in this situation I got a real problem: I've stated with some of my friends that Uruguay wouldn't pass the 1st phase, and of course after leaving France out of this WC I've realised that was a huge mistake; and also I've said that Netherlands would become the champion of this Cup. BUT, here's the deal: My brother's GF is from Uruguay and I sort of feel obliged to support them, but I want Netherlands to win...Hard close then :D

But to be honest, I'm still saying Netherlands will win this match :)

Well, problem solved :D

It would be great if the Netherlands won it all... but I also like Germany a lot and I've always been a fan of Spain. Schweinsteiger and Villa have both been outstanding on this WC... So at this point I'm pretty much just hoping to see good games. Kind of sucks that it's almost over, it just flew by!

As some of you may have read in the beginning of this thread, I never liked football. But since a few weeks I am watching it. Still don't get it 100%, but I understand the important things.

I really hope the finals will be between The Netherlands and Germany. 36 years ago those two teams were also in the finals. Germany won then. Now, 36 years later, we will kick the German's ass. (I hope:P)

I really don't know what to expect.

Germany are playing better as a team and have some ferocious young talents coming up. However, they haven't played against a solid defence yet.

Spain's sheer quality is unrivalled, and while they may not be functioning as smoothly as 2 years ago, they have several players who are capable of winning a match single-handedly. And they DO play pretty well as a team, let's not forget... perhaps not as awe-inspiringly as Germany, but they're not exactly a team to take lightly.

The Germans were rattled by Serbia, the Spanish by Switzerland. How many elements of those 2 teams will feature tonight?

You know why I want Spain to win? It would be something totally different at this point in the history of WC to watch a final against 2 teams that had never won this Cup. Besides, Netherlands - Spain would be in my oppinion a more interesting match than against Germany :)

Spain has been A LOT, A LOT better than Germany. Germany was just waiting and trying to score some goal in a counterattack.

It has been Spainful.

PS: Thanks again for your support with the vuvuzuela AAAAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!!

Spain made more opportunities and kept possession of the ball wonderfully. Germany were less aggressive than they have been, which was a bit strange.

Oh well, Netherlands v. Spain it is! Whoever gets it will be a first-time WC winner!

Fun fact: if Spain win, New Zealand will be the only team to have taken part in the WC which was undefeated.

I still can't beleive the Germany I saw yesterday was the same team that butt-rapped England 4-1 and Argentina 4-0. Anyway, congrats Spain :D!

What a deep thinker we've found.

His idea of a sport is sending a team on the field, having them bite, kick, claw and dry-hump each other with no rules whatsoever, then maybe tossing in a ball for good measure. That's freedom. That's the American way!

No...that's the chimpanzee exhibit at your local zoo.

Ok, lets say you put a few animals in a room. :x A chicken, a lizard, an octopus, a hog, a hamster, a worm, and a sperm whale. :x If they all start predicting the outcome of games, chances are, one of them out of the bunch will have a solid record. :x Capiche?? :x :x
