They will be touring with Freedom Call. So Dan will have double act every night.

I remember the last time I saw Sascha Gästner ( Helloween) was in 2002 playing with FC supporting BG ( just old memories...).

Actually Dan said in a recent interview that hes staying loyal to Gamma Ray, and Freedom Call will be using a fill in drummer. I'd say he made the right choice

Actually in the interview he says that he is leaving Gamma Ray because he can't handel 2 bands at the same time.

I read an interview where he says he is leaving Freedom Call to stay with Gamma Ray and a friend told me she read that too. I really prefer him leaving Freedom Call, I don't want him to leave Gamma Ray.

It would be much more intelligent to leave FC, Fc is a good band, really (Metal Invasion, Turn Back Time, The Quest are amazing songs!), but damn, compared to GR, they dont stand, GR is just a legend of Power Metal!!!

But it'd be great if he could stay in the two bands!

Umm, difficult choice, but I prefer him to quit from FC instead of GR. FC is a good band, but GR has more status.
Anyway, it´s Dan decission. I suppose he needs to be satisfied with more things apart the status of the band he plays for.

Well, although I love FC, I think they're too happy, their lyrics are too...naive, even sometimes childish (there is a French idiom for that, which would be in English: "everyone's nice, everyone's gentle), so it disturbs me sometimes, cause this is also found in their melodies!!!

GR lyrics and music are much more fun and deep for me, sometimes dark, sometimes humoristic, much more well-written...

Well I love both bands, but I still prefer GR!!!

People that say that must not have listened/ interpreted logicly to their music if they think they only have happy songs. I don't think any song thinks everyone is gentle.

Let’s take living in a fairyland for example, it portrays the world as a bad place and that a savior will come and change the world. That is certainly not saying the world is perfect as is.
The song has lyrics of the world being filled with sorrow and is chained and the song is about a prayer that the world will change .

Another song warriors, is about triumph over evil, definition, there music be evil for their to be triumph over evil.

They have lots about heroes; there would be no need for heroes or warriors in a gentle world.

they also have lots of prayer songs, why would they have prayer songs if the dreams were already a reality?

here is a section from hero nation

Holy father; can you hear us
Is it the end of global freedom
All the children, now and ever
Will they ever have a future
What if we try, to open the eyes
For a better world tomorrow

One world, for all the nations, one chance for God's creation
One sky, for all the children, one light for hope and freedom

A lost paradise
Under the darkenend skies
You can see in my eyes
All the tears I cried

does that look happy? do happy people cry out in prayer?

here are the lyrics for turn back time

This is a song of sadness, rhymes of pain
The sounds of my tragedy out in the rain
I made my way
and left you alone
I have denied you to be on my own

But while the years are passing by
The flame is still burning inside
I still remember you and I
Our love, it will never die

If I could turn back time
To ease my desire
I always remember
The sadness I've seen in your eyes

I call for the master, I'm calling his name
[ Find more Lyrics on http://mp3lyrics.org/VXD ]
Mysterious laughter, tortures my brain
Stories of sadness, stories of pain
I'm telling my tales to the
wind and the rain

All the dreams I had in my mind
I was doing whatever I like
I still remember you and I
Our love, it will never die

Turn back time
To ease my desire
I always remember
The tears I've seen in your eyes
If I could turn back time
And relieve my desire
It hurts me forever
That I lost the love of my life

do happy people have stories of losing the love of their life?

Well, I wont discuss Turn Back Time cause I just love it, best FC song with Metal Invasion and The Quest.

And of course, there are exceptions, but when you listen to a FC album, the global feeling that you get out is still that joy and happiness, but again, I'm saying that but I still truly love them!!!

Yeah, it's great! I think it's a bit heavier and darker than LOTFII. And the band seems to be experimenting a bit more. All in all, great album.

It was huge that after a big slump, Gamma Ray and Freedom Call suddenly put out the two best power metal albums after The Metal Operas! And that's saying something! Shadowking is by far the most eclectic and best FC album - just Bay's singing is on completely new level, not to mention songwriting.

And Gamma Ray made an eclectic album as well. Is actually better than NWO!... Huge. Just great! :D No words could possibly describe how cool it is to play that album! 8)

Gamma Ray never changes. That's why I give them a 5/5.
Oh, and it's good to know that Kiske was involved, too. 8)

Yup. A good solution from Kai anyway... :) "Yeah well that chorus really wasn't for my voice so I called someone who agreed to sing it." I actually laughed out loud when Kai added something like, "[Because of Michi singing in All You Need to Know] the song went through many changes, but it's still the same song." :D I need to check that part sometime. ^-^

Because of Kiske singing in the album and the album being very eclectic and still following LotF II stylistically in my opinion, THIS is the Land of the Free Part II for me. Also better than the original that has some fillery songs. :) There's the list of my favorite Gamma Ray album... groups somewhere in the earlier pages. D:

@Florian & Kecos: I didn't have any problem to pre-order it, I did it on recordshopx (Finland) and they sent me the album all the way to Peru, arrived in 5 days after the release date.

@Babylon: I'll see them on May 3rd in Lima! :P
BTW; I saw Blaze live for the first time last sunday, and he doesn't suck :D (I could say he's a very sweet guy in person too)

Great! I am really excited about this concert... I have only seen them once. It was with Helloween, so I'm looking forward to the full show this time.

Actually they do, but I must admit not as much as expected (about 500 people in a venue for 800). And he was very cool to have a Meet & Greet with everybody after the show. :)
